This bottle of 1998 Montrachet Grand Cru Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, from a perfect cellar, was decanted and served immediately; captivating from the start, it fully opened after 35-40 minutes. The wine has a strikingly deep, dark gold color, with a “yuge”, captivating and complex bouquet of sweet peaches, apricots and butter, with persistent hints of caramel and spice. It is intense, with both sappy acidity and rich, unctuous (but not heavy) sweetness, and a slightly nutty and ultra-long aftertaste. A remarkable, almost unique wine of enormous character and flavor that delivers tremendous pleasure.

- Yellow brown color and aromas of butterscotch, honey, grapefruit and orange blossom. It's balanced and has flavours of diacetyl (butter) and pineapple with a full body. Fleshy texture with a long finish - Perfect wine. Unbelievable.

Nineteen vintages of DRC Montrachet: The 1998 was quite nice, and like the 97 it punched above it's weight.
