  • From a well-cellared magnum, this 70-year-old wine remains surprisingly youthful. Deep red in color and with minimal bricking, it serves up an impressive core of black currants, raspberries, licorice, pipe tobacco and savory herbs. Full-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic and with plentiful chewy tannins, it stays dense in the middle and closes with a lengthy, albeit astringent finish. While this wine's tannins may ultimately outlast the fruit, there is no risk of that occurring anytime soon. Well-cellared magnums such as this will easily reach their 100th birthday. Drink now-2048.
