  Popped & poured, outstanding bottle of the afternoon, excellent ullage, nose was still fresh but with full on aged Bordeaux nuances, soft with substantial fruits in the mouth, brilliant aged Calon Segur

  A fabulous bottle here showing fully mature but still plenty in the tank. Very 1970 in it's black fruit profile and gruff texture but the complexity on the finish is profound! Dark spices, charred wood, tobacco, smoky gravel and a touch of mint grace the palate as it flows by. Really good mature Bordeaux.

  Remarkable wine at 53 years of age!
  Purchased from a high quality cellar
  High shoulder fill
  Perfect cork
  No decant
  Brick color
  Excellent Bordeaux nose: a couple of minutes of mustiness (in a good way) that blows off to a combination of lovely raspberry, prominent leather and a hint of raw meat - plus a bit of barnyard.
  Drinks like a 30 year old wine with beautiful raspberry and cherry fruit, leather and tobacco. The finish is not as long and complex as it probably once was but it lingers nicely.
  Consumed over 3 hours and did not fade at all. A marvel.
