Eucalyptus, barnyard and blueberry notes on the notes. This is too ’dirty’ for my wife, I love it. So much going on on the palate, marks of blueberry fruit, iron, barnyard, earth/dirt. Distinct, complex, singular wine. Thank you.

Wow, this was showing spectacularly. Open, radiant, deep and complex. It’s showing superb complexity, notes of graphite, cassis, black cherries, menthol, leather, tobacco, graphite, smoke, some deep minerality that is super fascinating, Full-bodied and deep, with medium-high acidity and medium tannin that is very good quality. There is this „mountain“ minerality that is particularly fascinating. Super long finish. A sensational wine from this difficult vintage. Wow. WOTN for me.

Deep purple garnet, med + aroma intensity, developing aromas of dried brambles, cooked/mulled plums, cedar, pencil shavings, spice, dark fruit leather, dried herbs (mint, lavendar), lamb's leather, spice box, cherry kirsch, some funky brett that really works with the fruit leather and dried fruit aromas, black tea, and damp earth. Complex, unfurling. In the mouth, the wine is dry, med + acid, med tannin (tea like), full body, med alcohol (not perceptable), med + flavor intensity, long developing finish. Flavors match the nose, the wine really develops across the palate and still has some ripe fruit notes, the wine coats the mouth, and the tea-like tannins support well, fruit acid is still quite present and keeps the wine fresh. Overall, outstanding, can drink now but will continue to develop for years to come, really just entering the window, open early and plan on a lengthy decant if you intend to drink day of.

Just about at a perfect point, although I was worried because my first one of a pair was flat and brackish.
I agree with other positive reviews to date, except I would not hold this much longer if I had more.
Overall the nose is most memorable. Maybe the best 98 Cali Cab I’ve had.

Bretted out. Distracted from everything else.
