What a great bottle of this which showed fully mature but quite vibrant with a great nose of smoky truffles and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's just so smooth and layered with fully resolved tannins and fabulous flavors of faded black fruits, sweet truffles, dark chocolate and warm spices. Just great and the best wine on the table tonight. Comanderie Edwardian dinner, 2/29/24.

Second best wine of a set of 4 right bank wines at Edwardian dinner. Smooth silky with perfectly balanced fruit. Best 90 to date but still far behind the 82 or 61

blind Bordeaux was right, everything else I guessed wrong. Felt more than a left bank Bordeaux, some black currant but also meaty notes. Some pencil, Nicely aged. 93

Complex and classic claret nose - dried flowers, plums, cassis, cedar mulch pour forth from the glass. A bit thin at first but blossoms over 30 minutes, with plums, wet earth, cedar, old leather, and an almost Pessac-like asphalt/gravel. Powdery tannins that are nearly fully resolved, leaving a silky smooth, soulful and very refined (if not quite aristocratic) texture. Drinking at peak, but seems like it will hold on for a while.
