Retail $120(?). 100% Chenin Blanc. A legend. A straight-out baller from the Loire Valley. Golden in the glass, even amber, with not much fruit and tons of nuttiness. No one I have ever met has a neutral opinion of Nicolas Joly and I will not pretend that I do now: he was a genious. Fruit (subdued), acidity (vibrant), and loaded with secondary and tertiary flavors and aromas. Whoa.
Deep straw in color with an orange hue. Nose of ginger, honey, and ripe apricot. Intriguing tastes of apple cider, tangerines, figs, autumnal spices, and hints of lanolin and honey. Well balanced wine with nice viscosity and mouthfeel. My 5th and final bottle of this vintage and is drinking well and better integrated than when younger. Despite an oxidative character this wine has at least another 4-8 of pleasurable drinking life.

Wow. It has been a while. Seven years? Yikes. Still amazing despite the amber color, it has a nose of lanolin, honey, and white flower. Whoa. The palate is tart and full of secondary and tertiary qualities. Whoa. Tart, acidic, retrospective, deep.

Belle experience.
