In a great place….older California Cabs don’t always hit the sweet spot for me, but this is wine was made to age and it’s doing so effortlessly with excellent spice and freshness complementing the array of fruits (94-95)

With a steak dinner, paired against the Dunn Howell Mtn 1995. Bordeaux structure and nicely balanced, but the Dunn had developed into a crowd pleaser that I scored 96.

Les tanins sont fondus mais le vin montre encore une belle présence en bouche, avec des notes de sous-bois, de tabac, un fruité encore sucré. La finale est exquise, en finesse, avec une belle complexité aromatique, de l’allonge. Que c’est bon un vieux Cab! 93-94 pts

Double decanted 4 hrs. The perfume is out of this world. Notes of barnyard, smoke, leather, tar, humus, menthol, rose petals, sandal wood, sweet ripe, fruit still present. Silky smooth. Served blind, everyone thought this was an old-world wine. An amazing achievement for the vintage. Will easily hold another decade.
