2023 Birthday lunch (Aquitaine Brasserie): Double-decanted but still needed quite a while to open up, citrusy to start but lovely stonefruit and spice emerged with time. Lots of years to go. Penfolds' flagship Chardonnay but not in the normal flagship mould of coming with the most oak and malo, more in the modern style of less winemaking influence and cleaner, crisper fruit. Very good but I would prefer a slightly heavier hand and bigger wine.

Aerated 90 min, best at 14C. With artichoke soup. Excellent match, but would gi for a more dirty bourgundy next time.
Drinking Well now, Will improve over the next 5 years.

A lovely wine but in the Penfolds tradition devoid of any spark or interest. Well made but uninspiring.

淡金黄色,闻香有一些硫的还原味,烤芝麻的香气,椴树花,桃子和奶油味,入口酸度高,酒液咸,有矿物感,口感丝滑,奶油包裹着白花和橘子的香气,收口稍微有点柑橘和植物的辛辣感后段辛辣,橡木桶影响明显的一款酒,奶油的香气一直贯穿到余味,伴随着核果到气息。风格华丽的一支酒,酒体扎实,大开大合,颇有点大酒范儿,用桶慷慨,给人极大满足感。

闻香有白芝麻,金银花和植物气息,能感受到一些矿物感,还有奶油的香气以及一股鲜味,入口酸度高,酒液咸,矿物感清晰,非常线性的酸度支撑起整个酒体,收口圆润,后段微苦,漂亮的结构,匀称的体型并不丰满,风格有点像一支勃艮第的 Puligny Montrachet,余味不算特别长,淡淡植物气息和奶油香气。
