00777/3101. Huge and incredibly youthful, so hard to tell the vintage of this wine if I were left to guess. High acidity, tropical fruit, chiseled, pointy, pear, yoghurt, coconut, nutty, so fresh this will probably be immortal (again, like my comment on the 14’). This is a good example of a good amount of age on this wine but it still leaves one to desire the fullness of its immense potential. Contrary to a bottle my friend tasted earlier this year (thanks for the non-invitation haha), I find the less-than-expected amount of botrytis to be not only non-disturbing but also welcomed, adding a layer of freshness in the background and constantly refreshing the wine. Popcorn heaven, mighty guard of crush stone, and balance perfection. 99-100
P.S. My white wine of the year in 2023, and this was a Monty-plenty year haha.

Special bottle courtesy of LD and served blind. Extremely weighty, but with an odd botrytis character and rather confusing acidity. Guessed Meursault Perrieres. Extremely special.

Domaine Romanee Conti Lunch (Phoenix, AZ USA): The best DRC Montrachet I have had the pleasure to drink in many years. A pristine example with such freshness for a 26 year old white Burgundy. Enormous wine, unparalleled density, chewy mouthfeel, so serious and long. I nursed the glass for a couple of hours and it didn't go downhill even a tiny bit.
One of the all time greats, and to have it alongside the '90 Ramonet Batard was mind-blowing. The youngsters didn't stand a chance! If only premox weren't a concern, I would love to have a cellar of wine aging into something as magical as these wines.

Light gold. Clean and pure. Some buttered popcorn and lots of florals. I like the restrained, balanced nature of this vintage vs. the over-the-top richness this wine sometimes has. A small amount left in the bottle was still going strong nearly 2 days after opening suggesting nearly limitless aging potential.

A great vintage for this wine. Good richness here, but not a perfect bottle as it was just barely beginning to show its age before displaying full complexity.
