I know, right? This is like grading a play while it's in workshop or a symphony by reading the sheet music. But life is short and yolo. Decanted and had a sip (yolo, remember?) - nothing on the nose, and a Berlin wall of tannins. Let sit for 5 hours and it was a different story. Deep port-like plumb, spicebox, cigar, with the upright structure of a set of flying buttresses. Finished with menthol and anise and about 45 seconds of pleasure. My girlfriend said that the nose didn't give away anything of the wonderful taste, and I'd agree with that. Unless you like first drafts, sketches or out-of-town tryouts there's no reason to open this for at least 5 years, maybe more, and I bet this will be around longer than a lot of island countries. Really good stuff -- and it paired amazingly -- AMAZINGLY -- with a pork stew that had cayenne and fennel.
