This was a total and unexpected glorious surprise...opened with a crumbly cork and decanted thru cheesecloth to a non descript nose but fully red without a brown edge to be seen. Expected virtually nothing from this wine which was drunk third in rotation during a dinner with two other Bordeauxs...1970 Ch. Pey de Bey and 1986 Ch. Sociando Mallet...this bottle stole the show. Filled to above the shoulder, after 3 hours it opened with a nice bouquet and had a wonderful, full fruit expression which lasted throughout the remainder of the evening, finishing with a full 30 seconds of wonder... Voted the best of the evening, I am saddened that I have no remianing bottles. Proof that lesser producers in off years occasionally come up with true winners!
