Dinner at Lucky House Cantonese Private Kitchen (Upper East Coast Road): Good stuff. This started with a deep nose of dried strawberries, dried flowers, earth and flowers, all ringed with a bit of smoke - beautiful matured Burg aromas. The palate was soft and silky, with pure red cherry notes and more matured haw flake flavours with just a touch of florals wrapped in nice acidity, all this leading into a fresh, cherry finish lined with a bit of menthol. Very enjoyable indeed, and drinking beautifully.

Very savoury and engaging nose of soil, blood, iodine, meat, truffle and plant matter. It has some sweet and vinous things in the mouth playing on a bed of scorched earth. There are all sorts of tertiary flavours and whilst acidity is low the wine's tannins give grip and freshness. A terrific '76.

Not quite as good as the last bottle I had. It had baked earth, burnt fig and brown sugar notes a plenty. The palate was low acid, full and round.
