It is always a treat to taste perfectly mature, older Bordeaux, especially when it is a vintage of Latour, I have never tasted. Medium bodied, refined, soft and with that great blend of forest floor, cedar wood, tobacco, wet earth and spicy, clean, red fruits. The wine seems to have exchanged power with charm. I wish the finish was a bit longer, but this was still a treat.

Surprisingly good for this light vintage (excl. Pomerol), a medium deep colour, light rim, bit peppery bouquet, vanilla, minerals, ripe fruit. In the taste lots of vanilla, fresh fruit, purity, not super elegant, rather long aftertaste with a good balance, no old tones.

A beautiful bottle- best of the 1950 first growths I have tasted. Elegant, sweet and in real harmony. Stayed alive through evening. WOTN against some serious 82s and 66s!

Keith's 1950/52 Offline (The Ledbury, London): Fullish, slightly cloudy garnet. Slightly musty old wine nose. A bit better on palate, on the downslope but drinkable, esp with the padron peppers and lamb. Bare *

Wine opened in 15 mins and lasted 2+ hrs. A very easy drinking latour. Drink now than wait.
