  Drank it along side 1983 Lafite
  
  Decanted both wine at 1 hour, Lafite nose is impressive, with notes of flora, mushroom, spices, toast, charr wood. While Latour have notes of forest floor, spices, smoke, toast, slight barnyard.
  
  After 2 hours of decanting. Lafite remain the same. However Latour open up and the slight barnyard had dissipated. And personally felt Latour is the better between two.
  
  Both wine still have long years ahead, can keep.

  NYE, Leonard’s at Le Grand Bellevue. Has more character than typical very good aged Bordeaux but was lacking a bit on variegated flavor. Was a bit under weather so prob couldn’t properly enjoy. Sommelier recommended no decant.

  Decanting: Quick double decant to remove the sediment 5-6 hours prior to consumption, which seemed perfect for the wine.

While clearly middle-bodied this is on its plateau. No urgency of drinking. Nose-wise got the better of a PLL 96 while the showing more complete than a Rausan Segla from the same vintage. Oozes class, contained class.
