Beat the '90 Latour: Generously contributed by Pavel. Wine had lost all colour and tasted like sherry, but seemed surreal to drink a piece of history like this.

Beat the 1990 Latour: Brought this as an additional mystery wine out of competition. High shoulder fill. Both producer and vintage clearly readable on the top of the capsule. One of the few times when I did not manage to get the cork out in one piece with the Durand. Let the wine stand in the open bottle for about 45 min as the nose seemed a little off initially. A clear light bronze color in the glass, could have been a very old white based on the color alone. Oxidative nose but not too bad, on the palate this was as clean as the color though, no fruit whatsoever left. Interesting experience but hard to rate on the usual scale.

Latour Vertical Tasting; 12/19/2013-12/20/2013 (Switzerland): The color was brown/reddish indicating the wines age. While the wine was still "drinkable" it did not offer any enjoyment. In the nose there was no pleasant flavors left. It still had some sweetness but the wine is many year past its prime. Rating such a wine does not give any meaningful information...

Double blind. Color was like a Rose, oxidized nose but still alive but barely kicking on the palate, a rather interesting experience.
