Magnum (1.5L) tasted after decant (2-4hours through the night) Brick red core, fading to an orange rim. Currant fruit, cedar, herbs and dried cherries open up the nose followed by ancillary aromas of black licorice, tabacco and spice. The plate has softened but delicious red fruits, cedar, dried tobacco and thyme still very present, with pleasant tannins that are fading but still there. The acidity is fading but still enough there to keep this going... The finish is long and still oak packed with leather flavors
still a very broad shouldered wine. unlike some '60s BV cabs, this wine lost nothing an hour out and was fine directly after decanting as well. fruity, rich, strong nose. a cab lover's delight. first of several to uncork. will let you know. not quite enough complexity to consider extraordinary. p.s. cork was in excellent shape though not stored under exceptional conditions. glad for that.
