Dominated by tannins and oak. Some dark cherry and nuance on finish, but I can’t get past the too strong tannins and vanilla from the oak. I typically enjoy Silver Oak. This bottle is a bit disappointing.

Tasted over two nights. First - violet, currant color. Scents of cedar, mint, & a little dark plum. Plum in the flavor supported by cherry & chocolate. Finish of mostly cranberry. Second - Vanilla is added to the nose. Spiced plum is more forward in the flavor, much more on the front of the tongue. Plum & quince notes in the finish.

Opened for 1 hr and initial tastes revealed a tart cherry with some muted leather and a good dose of tannins. Opened slightly in the next couple of hours of consuming. Not the best Silver Oak I have drank and somewhat of a disappointment.

A little disappointed. This wine isn’t holding up as well as I’d hoped. Nice floral approach but it doesn’t translate on the initial taste. Yes some leather, dirt and peppers remain but the finish is accentuated by an aftertaste of alcohol.

Plum Market wine tasting. Similar thoughts as a couple years ago. Dark ruby fruit - currants, blackberry, dark cherry, and some plum. Smooth mid-palate but a lighter profile than expected - medium body. Soft/somewhat subtle flavors of cassis, some spice, and a little graphite component. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep. I’ve never been impressed by this producer - their wines tend to come off light and not a whole lot of character especially for the money in my opinion. No surprise of the 90 rating from WS. 95% cab sauvignon, 2% merlot, 2% cab franc, and 1% malbec.
