Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 93 points

  • Consumed at Bern’s, this wine had a fill 2” below the shoulder and a lot of sediment. Carrying it around may have caused the red center and orange/clear rims to be a bit cloudy. The nose was tight and dusty at first but developed nicely to show mocha, black cherries, ground rocks, and molasses.

In the mouth, this wine was light and rather acidic in the mouth. It got better over the course of a half hour and then plateaued. This wine was reasonably attractive with food but a bit tart on its own.

This ancient wine was a joy to try. It had a 95 point nose but the mouth could not live up to that promise. On the down slope.
