Bouquet of black-tea, soy, sarsi, this was broad and a bit four-square for now, but should warrant extended cellaring where it should be much better showing. Have no doubt that it'll definitely improve with developing more complexity.

Rich and meaty, quite brooding, usually this wine is lighter on its feet, but may be this is the 2006 vintage coming through. Solid but not among the great vintages of this Cru.

Nose: Dried leaves, earthy, red fruits, cherry, hoisin, mint Notes: opened for 3 hours before consuming, quite a deep and 3 dimensional wine. With excellent depth, complexity and a great structure. I feel this wine is drinking quite nicely now and should perform well in the next 10-15 years. DB makes wines with good personality yet respects the terrior. I like this wine and think it's worth revisiting again in the future. Drink: now - 2038 Rating: 92

Amazing. Simply a gorgeous bottle. Everything in order. Potential galore, but no harm in trying one now (if you are lucky enough to have multiples). Showing complex sous bois elements already. Gorgeous fruit. In a flight of grand crus including 2 vintages of mature Grand Rue, this killed all other contenders.

Deep colour; dense nose, opens out to into raspberried fruit, focused; hard, power more than grace, stout, a medicinal edge. Rigid finish. Needs say 10 years!
