Delicious. Medium gold color. Nose is lemon curd, salinity, minerality. Mouthful is tart lemon with a bit of granny apple. Plenty of minerality and acidic cut. A medium plus finish. A classy structured white burgundy. At its peak? Probably in a great spot today and the next 2-3 years before the fruit lessens? Very enjoyable today though so I wouldn’t hesitate to drink it now.

Bright tart cherry red fruit, some smoke, tar and anise, tannins are def pronounced; demands red meat or food. But my guess is this is in a good spot- fruit isn’t going to get better; tannins are strong but to wait longer for the tannins to soften, the fruit will diminish. Balanced and enjoyable.

this had the misfortune of going up against a 2006 Schrader To Kalon. while I normally favor Bordeaux, this was a bit outclassed by the Schrader. tobacco and cherry flavors but this seemed quite light and lacking in power that other Pontet Canets I've enjoyed have displayed. This is a pontet canet I think i'd drink up now as I dont see it getting better, which is a bit surprising given the vintage.

amazing and probably the best bottle of schrader I've had. have never been able to wait till my Schraders hit 15 years of age, and to me, now that i've had one, I will wait for my others to mature to this age. This was perfectly balanced, delicious - while it was very CA cab, it had a purity of fruit and depth that was so enjoyable and not overwhelming. a real treat and perfect wine with grilled rib eyes.

in a great drinking window. had this with a very rich gnocci dish. the nose/perfume was distinctly anise and black licorice with red fruits to me; but the mouthful to finish was what really sung - full of great sweet cherry and really well balanced acidity, tannins that were softened by the richness of the gnocci. a great wine to pair with the dish we had.

popped and poured. very enjoyable. dark garnet color. dark red fruit with secondary hints of tobacco and dirt? pretty cherry notes, some dark chocolate hints, some tobacco bay leaf savory notes. tannins still there and probably would be better with red meat but I had this with pasta. regardless, a very yummy wine and def in a great drinking window now.

so pretty. lots of dark red fruit, plenty of tobacco notes and seamless acidity to keep it fresh. A long finish. This wine can be aged further and tasted younger than its age. Def a special bottle.

This is very very feminine and elegant; almost a textbook definition of lithe and ethereal. Very pale red color; pretty bouquet of bright red fruit, some forest floor, and roses. The mouthful is so delicate yet gained some weight in the glass and as it opened further. But no mistaking this for anything other than classic aged red burg. Surprisingly solid finish of decent length. My gut is this is at its peak so no need to wait any further. And if you want something with greater power and body, this is not the wine for you.

Young - a bit too young - with upside ahead of it.
pineapple and a bit of oak; some very slight reductive notes.
Hint of pleasant bitterness/burnt orange?
Minerality and Acidity are there but its the fruit and a bit of oak that is a tad bigger at this point - I think this can be rated higher as it ages a bit and would be inclined to wait minimum 1-2 years before my next bottle.

This is such a pleasure to drink. Plenty of life and a long road ahead of it, but its enjoyable today. elegant brighter red cherry, tobacco notes, a pretty perfume. Def claret typical medium bodied, not heavy given the hot vintage. elegant long finish with some tannins. this is a great wine.

very masculine, young-ish abd vibrant red burg. Had this at the end of a night so not a ton of detailed notes from memory, but this was a bit tannic, plenty of dark red fruit, tart, some forest floor - struck me as a bottle that could age another 5-10 years quite easily and would be interesting to try it at that point.

Side by side with the 97 Latour which we thought outclassed this. This was brawny and bold with some strong secondary flavors coming through given its maturity. But the Latour from a lesser vintage was preferred for our palates. This is clearly a great wine though and by any measure very very enjoyable.

This really surprised us on the upside. First growth in a cool not heralded vintage so we were cautious on how good this would be.
Pretty deep red color. Intoxicating perfume of sweet red berries and sous bois and tobacco. Lots of bright tart red fruit with a smooth finish.
This is drinking so well today.
The knock on this is it doesn’t have as much intensity of a deeper body or super long finish to elevate it to the 96-100 range. But we loved this as a wine to drink without food on its own to kick off a great evening of wines.

PnP. Excellent. Very pretty gold color. Nose is very seductive- white stone fruit, pineapple, wet stones, reductive notes that are more pronounced as it opens. Mouthful is granny apple with a hint of bitter orange. Terrific bracing acidity. Loads of minerality. Long finish. This has more years ahead of it but is drinking beautifully today. Great expression of what white burgundy should be.

Wasn’t able to drink this in proper stemware; regardless, my brief impression was fairly fruit forward with pineapple notes; very good minerality; acidity was good. This seemed more lush and had less of the leaner acidic cut I like from PC chablis. Still a very good wine. I’d like to try my second bottle again in a more proper setting to see if I have the same impression as I’m guessing this may warrant a re rating.

Excellent. PnP. Pale gold color; no signs of premox. Lemon, white stone fruit, wet stones, minerals on the nose. Hint of sulphur- in a good way- that was more pronounced at first. Lots of good lush fruit, but well balanced acidity with a slight hint of pleasant bitterness. Very grand cru as it’s seamless and full and long with no hard edges and nothing out of balance.

this wasnt quite what I was expecting. A lot of lush pineapple and tropical fruit; a bit of oak; not the level of acidity I expected and very little to no pronounced minerality. very well made - but if I had tasted this blind, I would have guessed CA Chardonnay not a premier cru puligny. still, an enjoyable wine....perhaps I drank this too young? I did have this over two days, and my tasting notes are similar on day two as well...

wow. just a beautiful, elegant wine - def Boardeaux like character here. Color was more red than purple with no strong signs of bricking or aging. the nose was bright red fruit and hints of green bell pepper and tobacco - not as pronounced as you would find in a bordeaux, but also more so than in a typical CA cab blend. The mouthful was really singing tonight - lots of very pretty raspberry fruit, good acidity and a nice medium finish. not overly extracted nor too much heat - this felt in balance and elegant. IMHO in a great window for drinking now and potentially at its peak. We decanted it for almost an hour and had this with lamb tenderloin - terrific pairing.

very pale gold color. immediate perfume of lemon, white stone fruit, wet stones. reduction wasnt as pronounced as other PYCM bottles I have had; it came out more as it opened but was far from being a dominant character of the nose. the mouthful offered plenty of lemon, terrific acidity, and a nice finish. an very elegant, beautiful wine that wasn't as powerful as other PYCMs I've had but delicious.
