mineral driven chard. lemon lime, straw, orange peel, stone fruit with a hint of oak. great at cooler temperatures. Found it losing balance as it warmed up. overall great wine at a good age and should last for many more years.

excellent wine. really identified as a cool climate bdx blend. tasted next to Tig 08 and preferred this (as a matter of taste). Will go on for many years more.

vibrant and fresh red fruit. a little meaty but I wouldn't say this is textbook Corton. very acidic. tannins still there. quality is here in spades but I wonder how this will pan out. probably needs a few more years - time will tell. if you have some unopened

ruby red. smoky spicy dark red fruit. nice tannins. polished. long finish. still young. a little too much extract for my personal taste. but in general a superior quality pinotage.

from the comments of others, it doesn't seem like i got an "off bottle". This was the real deal. High acidity, quite piercing. a lot of funk - the bad kind. worse on the second day. unfortunately not many compliments for this. Might please the natural/funky wine crowd?

Decanted 1.5h. fresh and well delineated dark fruit, vanilla, baking spices, menthol. lots of oak, a little too dominant I think. smooth. complex. long finish. too young for my taste. very good technically. nothing out of the ordinary.

low neck. good storage. drinks well. mature nose. on the palate fruit is still retained fairly well. a little thin and lacks depth. should stay this way for a few more years but won't get better from here

Good bottle of wine. i agree with the other reviews that you dont get all the downsides of the scorching heat of the 03 vintage in this. classic pauillac - pencil lead, tobacco, and deep concentrated fruit. Restrained and austere in a classic bordeaux sense. Despite its age it was still closed on opening and was better on the second day. Will see how this ages but i reckon it will only get better

last few bottles. charred meat, earth, sois bois dominates the underlying red fruit. well integrated now and has good balance and poise. not young but doesnt seem to be going downhill anytime soon.

decanted 3h+. very good. reticent on the nose. medium bodied, blue/blackberries, dark cherries, cassis, spice. good quality but still in a shy phase. Maybe a few more years before it starts singing.

needs a decant - at least 2h i reckon. ready to drink otherwise. nose initially muted, then grew in floral characteristics. on the palate dark fruit, woody, a little sinewy. not the most complex. classy. long finish. grows with the aeration. quite classic margaux. definitely 2005 kind of wine. much better than the 04. will last many more years

2 hour decant. dense fruit, with nicely integrated oak and understated power. Very well balanced and will give joy to many who like to open their bottles early. not a blockbuster but this will probably turn out to be a value proposition. still needs a few years more in bottle for me.

early maturity. rounded and fresh with nice lychee, melon, peach fruit. some toasty nutty quality. reminds me of honey nectar. some oak. the best quality is that this isnt overdone or over the top and is well balanced. oozing quality. finishes long long long. very good

not the most inviting on the nose but silky smooth, generous fruit and goes down well. not the most complex but still a good wine.

Beautiful wine. decanted 1h. early drinking window. dark fruit. some tertiary flavours. hint of herb. medium to long finish. good structure. not the most dense but very well balanced. nothing to complain about but at the same time nothing to really shout about. Good value for the money.

double decant. about 2-3 hours. dense dark fruit with chocolate. good balance. opens up with more herbal and menthol flavours. smooth. long finish. performing well and has good potential for further upside with age.
