Tonight's bottle was supposedly from the 2012 with 1/3 2011 released around 2019. In contrast with an older bottle consumed in the summer of 2023 (from mainly 2008) this one was good but not at the exceptional level that this cuvee can reach. It comes across as having a tad too much dosage which is un-necessary since the fruit is very ripe and rich. There is also a hint of bitterness on the finish (which I generally tend to find in younger releases and this bottle had plenty cellar time). It did resolve somewhat with air and some food. I am probably being a bit harsh here as I am used to great bottles from this small producer (over the last 3 + decades since our visit in the early 90's) so hopefully this is perhaps a slightly off bottle although no notes of oxidation or contamination. Interestingly according to my Rosenthal national rep. Colette has moved toward non dosage wines (or minimal amounts). I generally prefer extra brut with a little dosage to non-dosage wines. 2008 the 2008 Guy Larmandier Champagne Signé François Vieilles Vignes BdB was an exception; and outstanding brut nature. When I saw this NV Cramant on the store shelf, I decided to give it a try. Bitter grapefruit, green apple, scant brioche and a little mineral. Very crisp and tart. While I liked it, and it paired well with our meal, I couldn't help feeling that to my taste, it would have been better with a low dosage rather than none.

This was a stunning bottle. Everything I want in a lower dosage champagne. 2/3 2012 and 1/3 2011. All of that showed. Dry and zippy but with clean, pure fruit to balance it. It went fairly well with chilean sea bass, although that wasn't a perfect pairing.

Its base 2014. I believe it was disgorged in 2019. Its always nice to have producers that will give their wines time to develop in the cellar rather than going for the quick cash. Focused lemon chiffon nose with hints of saline, wood and white flowers. The palate is a bit hard with the acidity hitting with a tart bite. The chalky grip helps moderate that. Very fresh yet. Best as a food wine. You get the sense that they make their wines with care and purpose.

Half bottle, disgorged 4/2022 with 0 g/L dosage. Initially served a touch cold, but showing a great balance of autolysis notes with toasted brioche and minerality. With some air and as it warmed, more fruit forwards with yellow golden apples and quince as well as some fragrant yellow citrus. Despite having no dosage, this wine did not come off as bone dry or austere as the fruit was quite ripe and plentiful. Acid was present for balance and the mousse was creamy. Quite pleasant albeit simple. 90-91

Greenish yellow hues, looks younger than I remember; very fine bubbles and a salty oyster shell character present in the nose along with some green apple and cream, the yeast appears on the palate and fine bubbles give this a fine texture on the palate, on one hand I really liked this but I was expecting something a little more open and generous which left me wanting.

There is a lot of freshness and balance with poached pears, green apples, white fruits, acacia flowers, crushed rocks, biscuits, warm dough, and some toast. There is good depth with a chalky-take to the nose that is very pleasing. The feel is Medium bodied with crisp, high acidity. The feel is well balanced with the acidity providing some nice cut and precision. This is picture perfect Blanc de Blancs from the Cote de Blancs. It isn't in the linear/angular category and instead goes with freshness and well balanced autolytics.

Bruised apple but also some richer lemony notes. Strong sort of soda pop feel due to the coarser bubbles. Still, it's a solid Champagne for what I paid. I believe this disgorgement is 2/3 2012 and 1/3 2011.

Purchased on prearrival in late 2016, so this should have at least a couple of years' age post-disgorgement on it. Very pure, fresh apple. Very nicely balanced acidity and gentle sweetness of fruit. A hint of caramel richness on the finish hints at things to come with additional time. This is pretty decent now but should be more compelling with another 2-3 years in bottle.

Pnp from magnum. A gorgeous wine that is open for business right now. Nose and palate show banana, yeasted pastry, charred brioche, lemon, and baked apple pie. Creamy mousse and creme brûlée midpalate drive to the finish with a gorgeous saline and savory mineral inflected streak. Very nice.

Disgorgement 22/06/2017 With less than a year since disgorgement, I have no doubt that this should flesh out a bit over time and pick up more aromatics. For now, the nose is biscuity, toasty, (but not like a delicious French bakery/pastry shop, just like day old bread) with citrus notes. The nose is inviting and welcoming, but it’s lacking the depth and richness of a great Champagne. The palate is lemon and mineral with a medium-long acidic finish. I know the tone of this review doesn’t sound enthusiastic but this isn’t a bad Champagne. However, at its price and the way this is drinking today, I’ve had better at this price point. Give this a few years to sit. The acidity combined with the 6g dosage should elevate this to at least the 93pt range.

Wonderfully creamy and nutty. A great blanc de blancs that is at once rich enough to satisfy my preference for "big" champagnes while also possessing the elegant minerality one expects from an all Chardonnay champagne. Wish it were easier to find in the states.

Elegant champagne -- so clean, crisp, tart, with great acidity that is nonetheless smooth. Has a soft backbone that counteracts all the sharp aspects, so that it really sits on the palate in a blaze of blanc de blanc glory, just as it did in previous bottles.

Exotic spice and yeast, red apple. This is the American disgorgement, which means it has 7 grams dosage. But in France its apparently at 14 grams dosage. And three years on the lees. All hand riddled.
This is a tiny touch of Chouilly as well apparently. But then all Cramant.
Just a little baby, dry on the finish, exceptional.

From magnum and 750ml. Both bottles have been stored in my cellar for a few years and both are still very young with great purity of fruit and a crisp, stony minerality. The fruit is green, apple and pear, with a citrusy kick. Great Champagne.

Color is golden yellow, good body, great mouth feel, very creamy. Served warmer than usual and it brought out the aromas of peach, buttered toast, bisquit, brioche, apple, pear with a honey liquour finish. Tasted as it smelled with additional graphite, It has the taste of a more aged champagne. Very interesting in light of Bon Vivant and WIML notes suggesting that aging is developing this wine to its fullest. Definitely NOT over the hill.

Still one of my favorite champagnes. Sorry no notes we talked too much over mediterranean tomato salad with goat cheese. At dinner with Petitblanc (CT'er) and he was very impressed with this champagne. My girlfriend brought up the Dom comparison again and she is hard core when it comes to Champagne.

Elegant and restrained. Light effervescence, smooth yet unassertive.
Second champagne of the lunch and good as this may be, it didn't stand a chance against the '96 PJ Belle Epoch. Very very good but against that backdrop it seemed pale and somewhat dull.

Well this is the second bottle consumed over the last few months there is an LR4 stamp on the glass and their RM26751-01 on label though no disg. date. I guess around 2008 (Niel needs to get with the program) I always find the GL to be on the richer style of the BdB While this does not exhibit the full blast mineral and graphite from their vineyards further south in Vertus , it is a well made wine which exhibited a full mouth richness and good verve. Impressive for a NV but i have the feeling that it will only get better with a little cellar time -will give this another 2-3 years

Half Bottle NV Champagne Tasting; 1/31/2009-2/1/2009 (Kirstin and Shane's): THe nose was milky, with some minerals and a different sensation than I'm used to in champagne - almost plastic, but not quite. As it warmed, applesauce aromas appeared too. The palate was soft, with more apples. It was pretty good, and came in #2 of the 3 wines in the BdB flight. 87-88

Very fine champagne with excellent balance and acidity. Intense flavors that are similar to Krug with yeast and lemon flavors. Finishes nice and nutty but is a bit watery next to the Krug we tasted later that night. Still, this is excellent, classy champagne.

Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout with light, fine beading. Nose of matchstick, sherry and light notes of yellow fruits. Flavors of tart yellow apples with a bit of lemon. Light mousse, short finish. Light to medium acidity, light to medium body. Drink now. Probably a little over the hill based on performance so no rating.

Once Upon a Vine XIII - New Orleans, LA by Martin Wine Cellar (Pavillion of Two Sisters): Probably one of the better value driven grower sparklers I have tasted in recent years. Very classy and elegant bursting with brioche, buttered toast, light frothy lemon merigue pie, and hints of granny smith apple and pineapple. Bright acidity and silky medium body. Very nice, with a clear aftertaste of honey and wheat. I definitely liked this very much today, but I think I will enjoy it even more with 6-10 years of age on it. That will only add to the yeasty honey buttered brioche flavors that I love so much. Definitely worth a try or a buy!!!

Classic Champagne flavor profile that most people should enjoy. If not for the price, I would say that this is a good choice for large events. Flavors include wet stone, candied berries, and toasted nuts. Not too complex, but quite soft and very easy to drink.

On the nose: Minerals, cream, and floral-citrus with vanilla accents. On the palate: Medium body with a mild acidic streak giving way to tons of pears mixed with creamy, doughy minerals and a chunk of peach flavored earth. I would have sworn that Pinot Meunier played a part. BdB should not be this way. Comments: Let this warm up and serve it more like a White Burgundy as this is earthy and a bit off putting when chilled down. This is an flavorful wine, but not what I expect from Cramant. This is a bit heavy and earth laden for my palate. Some may call it terroir, but I do not think it does a good job representing Cramant. Those who are into earthy (some would mistakenly call it "terroir" IMO) sparklers that are expressive and different will like this. I prefer the Premier Cru NV bottling to this, but only would recommend the Rose among their NV bottlings.

Very fresh aromas of chalk, oatmeal, lime peel, and minerals; notably not yeasty or even remotely madierized; light and lively mouthfeel with a refreshing clarity, along with a lime-tinged brininess that builds into an impressively broad an appealing finish. This is one of the best sub-$50 Champagnes I can remember drinking.

$44.99 retail. Drunk side by side with a NV Pol Roger (see TN). The Larmandier was the clear winner. Fresh nose, with citrus and very faint bread / dough. Bright and crisp on the palate, with more citrus and a very light toast element. Nicely balanced. Stylistically, fairly down the middle, but clearly well made. Very nice, and fairly priced, considering recent unimpressive negoc. bottlings in roughly the same price range (Billecart, Bollinger, Pol Roger, Laurent-Perrier).

What do I have to add? A perfect NV blanc de Blancs at a very affordable price (at least in France).

Elegant champagne -- so clean, crisp, tart, with great acidity that is nonetheless smooth. Has a soft backbone that counteracts all the sharp aspects, so that it really sits on the palate in a blaze of blanc de blanc glory, just as it did in previous bottles.

Very nice, young NV champagne. Some creaminess, nuttiness, medium carbonation. Medium in body and acidity. Finishes clean, medium in length, slightly less intensity.

Very young tasting, bright golden apple, slight toast, nice minerality. No secondary flavors that would indicate any age. Very good for a NV. Should age well if you like to age nv champagne.

In Magnum.
This Magnum tasted better than any 750ml I've had from them. Maybe it was NYE that made this wine taste so good, but I thought this wine showed very well. Heady, complex and enjoyable for hours.

Medium-light pear color with lovely medium bubbles. Very ample nose of brioche and chardonnay fruit. Similar palate. Nice freshness with depth and a dark almost blanc de noirs quality. With TWG and T in San Antonio.

From a mag - no idea as to disgorge date-
Elegant and restrained.
