Still a good amount of fruit, some round tannins and the sweetness of a fully mature pinot. After opening somehow less interesting, gained on structure and personality after some minutes in the glass.

Lovely nose, raspberry, underripe strawberry, a lovely cedar note and a touch of leafy tobacco. Similar on palate, there was good concentration but still with a supple mouthfeel. Nice and light on the palate to the extent I was very surpirsed to see this was 14% alchol on the label!
Took a good 2+ hours to begin really opening up and showing its full potential - ideally I'd have opened a bit sooner to enjoy more at the peak, but a very quality wine nonetheless. I ultimately felt that this really showed the Grand Cru status of the vineyard.

Medium deep red in glass. Nice pinot nose, more than two years ago, so might still improve additional one or two years. More than that might get too much truffle or barnyard for me. Drank firm and velvety, still had underlying power, changing with time in glass. Some truffle, a little drying tannins.

For me, just a hair behind the Ponsot CdlR for WOTN. This wine was superb, and met my high expectations. It was compact enough to suggest for me another 5 years will benefit more expression. Not too advanced in profile either, with sappy red and black fruits. Coiled and intense, this wine wore its pedigree well.

In a lovely place, Fruit was a little more forward than the Ponsot or Rugiens-Bas. Lovely elegant red cherry fruit, very pure. Had a rather soft entry on the palate suggesting some maturity. In a great spot. Maybe not as long lived as the other '07's but no complaints opening now.

Enjoyed as part of a friend’s 50th. Bottle decanted for 90 minutes the poured into glass. Wine started suttle and elegant. I was surprised how much red fruit was present as the night progressed. The finish was long. I would say it drinks very well now, and it will hold for a decade plus.

Super Bowl 2021 (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): See through dull maroon, pale rim; weird nose, medicinal, raspberry, some soy, wilted roses, incense, fig, almost CdP Grenache on the nose; palate shows sexiness, elegant, great acid, I like drinking this more than smelling it, like drinking it (right now) more than the other Burgs tonight, savory finish; slightly advanced, very tasty but lacks completeness from the nose; '06 Bonnes Mares?

Just love these 07's for drinking right now...for their subtlety and silky femininity...and a lot of the ones I've had are bright and lacy with red fruits and pretty spice. This CdT is a pleaser as well! Has all those characters...wonderful liqueured wild berry red fruits, with some deeper earth tones and exotic spices...dusty white pepper and dried potpourri...digs a little deeper in the earth with just a faint sous bois showing, as well as some strawberry and tomato field. Structurally sound with crushed minerality and fine grained tannins...yet wonderful plush and silky texture. More air brings out dried licorice and tasty savory spices...finishes full, kick of tartness, and very satisfying! Another 07 success!

Drinking well right now, as I've found to be the case with a bunch of other '07s - lots of bright red fruit here with gentle herb, earth, and oaky accents, some grainy tannin on the back end and bright acids beneath giving it nice lift and a sense of freshness.

Wine Dinner #162 - 2007 Grand Cru Burgundy (Urbane Restaurant, Brisbane): The least of the 2007 Grand Crus tasted this wine has a dark cherry colour and a nose of dark cherry, blackberry, plum, chocolate and some spice. The palate has plenty of fruit but seems overworked and glossy without the finesse of the best in this vintage. An enjoyable mouthful of Pinot particularly with food but not the interest I seek in a Grand Cru.

Elegant, precise, sophisticated: for sure. Then again, for this price, you can buy an entire case of German or Swiss Pinot Noir that is in a similar class, at least IMHO.

Elegant and precise although still young. Traces of oak, touches of heat-both should easily integrate with time. Fruit component is cherry dominant- sour cherry and black cherry. Vein of charcoal. Long, dry finish.

Some Top Shelf Burgs (My home): Not quite is packed as the 2006 but to me, a bit more elegant. In the end, i preferred the 06 but just by a hair. Deep ruby/purple in color. The nose has dark cherries, spice and slight earthiness. With air some red cherries start to pop. On the palate, this seems much younger than the 06. Dark cherry fruit with slight tannins. Very pretty cherry fruit with some air. Also some nutmeg. A more feminine side to it if you will. Nice finish. Needs a decade of cellaring or lots of air. This got about an hour to breathe.

93-94 pnp, drank over a few hours at dinner. Showing very similar to what I remember of the bottle tasted in 2015. A lot of structure, darker pinot fruit, started to flesh out with some air (would have done well with a little more air/time). At 11 yrs young this still needs time to mature, imo.

Nice bottle. Young and a touch closed. Give this 2 hrs in a decanter if you want to open now. After a couple hours it started to open up. Nose was a bit closed, and only showing some black fruit. Medium body, solid acidity. Rather delicate, with strong darker pinot fruit, some blood and earth were starting to show, but certainly not fully mature yet. Good promise for the future. If you like younger burgs, ok to drink now after decant. If you like fully mature, wait 5 years more at minimum.

Very floral and elegant nose reminded me of chambolle musigny, but the strong underneath gamey and earthy tone were reminding me it's from another village. Palate also came with strong earthy tone , iron core and very floral , came along with strong tannin backbone and subtle spices. Just a bit watery in the end as vintage character ,but can't restrict me it's nearly at the prime of drinking !

Clos de Tart Dinner (Cherry Circle Room - Chicago IL): Open 30 minutes before serving. Very concentration and weight, with a fun and forward start, then a more elegantly textural finish.

Ex-chateau btl. Its so tight even with a 30-45 mins decanting. Nose has some stewed fruit, herbs, green pepper and oak. Stringent on the palate. Obviously needs a lot more time. Is it going to be a great tart? I doubt. But it will probably improve with aging. Based on this btl, i wont touch it in the next 4-5 yrs.

Recess: Good at first, but this got substantially better with air. It's a touch awkward on the palate initially with the acid sticking out on the back end, but comes together and feels much more harmonious with some time in the glass, while opening out aromatically to show more floral and herbal scents around its core of red fruit.

French and Italian wine gathering (The Grill Room at Rosewood DC): Fredrick actually bought this and the 96 Anne Gros Clos Vougeot, a great gesture. Surprisingly it is significantly lighter in color than the CV. Medium expressive nose, stewed tomato, Vosne spice and mineral. There is a hint of very ripe fruit. I wonder if the domaine picked very late like Ponsot. Typical for the 07, it lacks the concentration and slightly hollow. Already enjoyable.

Opened 5hrs before drinking but not decanted. Better on the nose than it was on the palate. A beautifully beguilling nose of red fruit but a little one dimensional on the palate. Pretty well integrated though, and not showing any prominent oak and tannins which Clos De Tart can sometimes be known for. Will probably still improve with more cellar time but open enough to consume now.

Light garnet. Expressive nose of red fruit with strawberry, yeast and sweet spices in the foreground. Very elegant on the palate, I like the balance between fruit and dry extract. The aromas remain present in the mid palate, good complexity and long finish. Not a dense wine but the Grand Cru character is noticeable from the refined aromatics. An elegant and fine Burgundy from a not so good vintage.

Drank with Burgundy group. No formal notes. This bottle was big, quite bold, but still managed nuance and delicacy - a contradiction. It took the better part of the night before it started to open and did not really get a good look at that. Save other bottles.

Open two hours before serving. Nicely floral with sweet red and black berry throughout, with anise, dark chocolate and espresso. Absolutely delicious right now, but with the gravitas to hold nicely, even if I'm not sure it will pick up more nuance.

Opened from a magnum. Wild berries, dark fruits, menthol, earth and oak on the nose. The wine did not really open up probably due to insufficient aeration. But for a weak vintage like 2007, the wine showed some depth. I would like to revisit it in 3-5 years.

Fleshing out nicely. Not as massive as the Domaine's usual offerings, but growing in stature over time -- to be point that even now its taking on the form of one of the bigger '07s. More dark-fruited than the last sample. Tannins still need to integrate. Nice earthiness. Try again late 2017.

Clear ruby red, deep, floral nose with spice cake and sweet plum tart. A background note of eucalyptus. There is a sense of limestone and mineral. The nose in its current state is beautiful.
Started at cellar temp, but the nose and flavors really opened up after 1 hour. Rich, mouth filling flavors of tart cherry, with spices in the back of the palate. There is perfectly balanced acidity and the tannins are fully integrated. The mouth feel is silky and full. We drank this with a capellini dish with sage infused brown butter and the acidity was a perfect accompaniment to the rich herb flavored butter.
My final note is that you can drink this wine right now and have a seriously beautiful bottle of Burgundy. You could also wait another ten years and be treated to a wine of another dimension of secondary and tertiary flavors.
Drink it now and be amazed, but make sure you have another bottle to see where this baby is really headed. Either way, you will not be disappointed.

Steve's 60th (Roswell, GA): See through ruby crimson; brulee, cherry, perfumed, young, sexy, limestone in the back; very tight as this was pnp, structured, pure, new oak integrated well, very tart, tight, powerful; not yet delineated but this gave a glimpse of how great this wine will be in many years; did not think this was an '07; 92+.

Pop and pour at dinner after a tasting, so no formal note. This was showing best about 45 minutes after it was opened. I liked this quite a bit, not showing the thin/austere character I find in a lot of 07s. However, it doesn't have the stuffing of some of the more recent good vintages. I think it compares favorably to the 2001 Clos de Tart right now, but I'm not sure it will age as gracefully.

Bright ruby, fairly deep in color. On the nose, this shows ripe red berries, black raspberry, spice, minerals, flowers and a hint of white pepper. This is medium to full bodied on the palate, with good concentration and excellent finesse. The structure is adequate, and there is plenty of acidity, but this has slightly rustic tannins. The finish is medium plus length.

Marquis Grand Cru Burgundy Lunch (Boneta Restaurant - Vancouver, BC): This was quite shy and elegant on the nose, displaying aromas of dark dried fruits, some stewed cherries, and a touch of soy. More dark dried fruits carry through to the palate, along with some red cherries, tart blackberries, and toasted oak. Very rich and deep on the palate, with a moderate amount of both tannin and acidity. Medium+ length finish ending on notes of prunes and red cherries. Despite the weak vintage I admit I was expecting a bit more from this, but it appears to be in a bit of an awkward phase now. Still it's clearly a very nice wine. Very good

Have a number of these, so tried one out in the name of "science". Glad we did -- gives good context for what's to come in the aging curve. The good: bright red fruit and acidity. The less-than-good: alcohol (a surprising 14%) comes through some, throwing it off-balance a bit; also a tad "stemmy" at the moment. Oak is there, but not intrusive. Should all round out in time. Try again about 2015.

Mistral French Bistro Dinner with Allen Meadows (Vancouver, BC): Pronounced nose of spice and deeply concentrated sweet pinot fruit that would have me guessing Vosne-Romanée in a blind tasting. After a few minutes candied cassis, black liquorice and cinnamon start coming through on the nose as well. In the mouth there are layers of fruit with a velvety texture that’s followed up with a blast of acid and tannin yet it remains very well balanced. There is some slight heat coming through on the lengthy finish. This is extremely intense on both the nose and palate and is showing more youthfully than any wine tonight. Wait 10 years at least. Excellent. 92+

Eric shared this bottle with Helene and me and while I agree with his notes I felt the wine started to really start expressing itself in the glass over the course of dinner and as Eric very optimistic for the future. I want to source some to see how it develops.

Floral start with sweet black berry and cherry aromas and flavors, alongside licorice, darkly roasted coffee and sweet spice.

Excellent. 92+
