  • Earth, ash, and blackberry nose with a broad palate that is high in dry extract. Good minerality and medium tannin. Reminds of a higher alcohol wine but label says 13.5% This is solid but lacks density of fruit. Needs time to come together.

  • Followed up last week's wines, Chateau Talbot and Standish Wine Co Standish, both 2019. Both were very good from the start last weekend, but now both were so much better. It was of course to be expected when you open such young wines.

Standish is really powerful, but thanks to a wonderful tannin structure and a clear acidity, it manages to balance the fruit, it needs time to become homogeneous. A fantastic Shiraz!

Ch Talbot has become a Left Bank favourite. Full body but the classic minerality, pencil, tobacco and mocca, cassis. Will get even better with time.

It's fun with wine friends. Drink or hold (but give this wine time!)

  • Nose: Wet dark soil, old cedar, orange blossom, scent of some darker fruit, but is masked by all the moist earthy notes; very nice. Palate: Tart cassis, sour red plum, dark cherry, heavy dose of rustic weathered wood, scorched earth, playdoh; dense mouthfeel and creamy tannins, high acid; with more coaxing there's some mossy cedar and even root beer. Undoubtedly a complex wine and enjoyable now, but certainly has the foundation to improve and last for a very long time. Held up well over three days with it shinning brightest on day two.

  • Same notes as before; ox-blood color, gorgeous nose, long finish, greeat balance, and will improve in the coming years. Had o ver cheese, ham, and crackers in JeJu Island with our friends in the kitchen.

  • Second day. Green notes, lots of minerality, black and red fruit, medium-full body, high acid, nice finish. Still young, needs 5 years. If drinking today, decant 2 hours+.

Not bad but not my style because of greenness!

Glass had some issues that led to me thinking it was spoiled.
