No formal note, as this was consumed yesterday and I was focused on enjoying it vs. making a mental note to post. I’ll just say this was fantastic and in great shape after a few hours in the decanter. Truly a great Napa cab that has at least 5-6 years of prime drinking ahead of it, maybe more.

Wow. Aromas of black berry, cedar, toast and expresso. Rich concentrated black fruits with a deep core and nuanced layers of beautiful spices. Well integrated structure that keeps this lively and fresh. In a gorgeous spot. I could see why the critics love it. Served blind most thought it was a very fine Bordeaux. Awesome wine, bravo. No rush here, but for me it’s at or near peak and close to perfection.

2024 New Year's Day Double Blind Tasting: Double-blind. I did not like this wine. It is waaaaayyyy too young and disjointed. High alcohol, viscous, hot, unidimensional. This is clearly in its awkward dumb phase. I would not open a bottle of this for at least another 10 years. Disappointing. .

No notes taken. This was open for a week (in a fridge and with the air removed) and it was still singing. Very well structured, the ripeness level well in check and already showing nicely complex, this could become a great vintage for Dominus with another 15 years of age.
