Unclear. Notes of cherries, red berries, herbs, pepper, leather etc. complex and concentrated wine. Mid- tannins. Well-balanced wine. Not many years left in this vintage. Great wine with long finish.

closed for business in every way. two hour+ decant that went to three hours plus and just no change in any way. tons of green stems. nose never released beyond that. very masculine with lots of power. darker black fruit profile and solid acidity with a decent finish. this needs another decade or at least a 4-5 hour decant IMHO. this is almost like a bouquet of rose stems - so much of that dark green stemmy bouquet dominates the entire wine from nose to flavor profile. i'm not rating this today. worth revisiting in 10 years.

Great treat and immensely generous of Andrew to open this for the table. Served side by side a Meo Camuzet Richebourg 2002. The DRC was distinctly cloudy in the glass. On the nose it was super spicy. Very fresh and focused on the palate, cranberry and cherries, very tactile and kept changing with more air mellowing a bit and showing some nice sweetness towards the end of macerated cherries.

Good but a tad thin esp compared to the 98 Grands. Less complexity. Still a very good bottle of wine just lacking some depth. Cherries, red fruits, some smokey notes. Classic DRC texture. Decent spices.
