Opened for 3 hours before consuming. Minty nose with lots of Asian spices, slightly herbal, slightly green at first and some red floral notes in the back. Medium plus palate which will need more time to resolve itself, slight extraction in the back and noticeable tannins. A fine effort for the vintage with at least a point of improvement with more bottle age, slightly disjointed at the moment.
Herbal note, minty, tiny bits of green note, bright cherries and strawberries. After some time with air, some candied fruits started to emerge. It tasted a 07 to me. The wine is too young. Give it 5 more years and it will be better. As of tonight, its a 91pt for me. Slightly below my expectation for a drc. The decanting tonight was clearly not long enough (90 mins)
Seductive rich earth and forest filter though plum and blackberry spice and lavender. This round and balanced beauty, fills the mouth with luscious luxury luxuriating like perfectly ripe fall cherries and etches in your memory an aroma of infinite complexity. Decanted for four hours and the everything just kept getting better.
Champagne and Pinot Noir Tasting: Served blind. Reserved nose with some dark fruit, spice and mushroom but more muddled than singing. The taste is really nice with plenty of flavor intensity and great balance, but fairly one-dimensional at this point. Most enjoyable, but I was expecting a bit more.
Easily perhaps the most stunning echezaux I have ever had. It already is developing and approachable. It was spectacular. Worried it would be infanticide, but not. Young, but fresh, initial nose of classic Vosne romanee funk/forest floor. Rich, long and opulent. Opened and decanted 6 hours before drinking, it needed it. Allowed an herbal touch on the nose to blow off/integrate. Rich, opulent, blackberry, cherry, great wine!
