The DRC Echezeaux was a nice trip back to Burgundy. A lighter DRC with some strawberries and steminess to give away its identity, this bottle seemed as good as it was going to get, a good dinner wine with enough complexity to keep it interesting and noticeably more subtlety than a wine like the ’83 Swan.
Bill Randolph DRC Tasting (Gaby & Jim's): Medium pink color with some lightening. Seductive lithe sweet cherry spice on the nose. Really lovely integrated light to medium bodied sweet cherry on the palate. Relatively simple but a lot to like.
