Wow, best bottle of this to date. Profile similar to previous best bottles, superb elegance and balance, much life ahead. A shade more complexity could make this perfect. Underappreciated vintage, a feminine style that suits my palate very well.
Triple decanted three hours before drinking this elegant well-balanced, velvet and deep purple poetry in a bottle. Rich blackberry, black currant, and plum with cedar forest, licorice and cassis merge beautifully into a lingering loving finish filling the mouth with wonder and wonderful
Powerful and youthful. Dark fruits and flowers of nose. Untamed but oddly smooth tannin with spices and woody finish. Lingering, long. Even just a baby Lafite to drink now, it shows all its potential to be great!
Tasted blind. Completely muted, was very difficult to get anything out of it. Some red fruit, hints of cedar and tobacco but not much else. Needs a decade or many hours of decanting if you open one now.
Opened it up for my daughters 13th birthday for her birth year. Decanted for 2 hours but it really opened up after that. I think I would decant this for at least 3 or 4 hours before consuming...then I might give it a higher score.
