Youthful and mature...Is the best way to describe this experience with this wine...Its like when summer and fall meet in one day... Clear maturity showing antiqued red berries, pencil shavings, with jubilant vigor! Still fresh and long...I believe that this is where storage condition are key..
Bordeaux dinner - first growths, blancs and d'Yquem. Bottle, fill and cork all good. This was breathing for about 8 hours before dinner. A very substantial wine - cedar, red fruits, earth. Seems quite young. Should last a few more decades and will likely improve.

(Chateau Lafite-Rothschild Pauillac) This wine has a very dark, treacle-toffee mahogany hue. It is very backward still, but opens out to reveal some rich fruit aromas with time in the glass. It has tannins which, although softening, still dominate the palate. A little backward fruit and spice. Finishes with a show of tannins, and an amazing length that goes on and on. It has to be one of the first growths.
