  • Purchased and consumed at Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa as part of a two day wine tasting of older French Wines. The wine was spectacular. It had been recorked twice by Lafitte, in 1972 and 1995. The wine was incredible! The color was slightly amber typical of a 30-40 year old wine, not 106 years. The body was lighter than a modern Lafitte, but the flavor and mouth feel was awesome. Tannins were very mild, the fruit was still evident, and the finish lasted for minutes. Amazingly the wine was purchased at an auction in Paris by Berns, and was impecibly stored, and so the wine lasted in the glass for almost 45 minutes. Fantastic experience for all of us!

  • Amazing. Despite disintegrated cork, this wine was still there. Very light red/brown. Almost classic bordeaux nose with some barnyard. A hint of residual fruit and still a bit of structure! Lasted almost 30 minutes before fading out. What a treat!
