Red and black fruits with some tannins on the back end. It's not as rustic as some vintages, but it's by no means glossy. On pop and pour it seemed like it needed to shed some baby fat, but scarcely an hour later it leaned out. Further aeration brought out a faint mint note. Enjoyable, but I never found a second gear.

At its peak. Perfumed nose, light body, typical elements with maybe tannins -- subdued otherwise -- not as polished as expected. I was happy to see Bordeaux in that more modern, post-Parker style.

I bought some bottles of this wine almost two years ago and never tried a bottle. It got a little lost. I liked it.....a good value. I decanted it for 2 hours. I see that cellartracker.com reviewers have a somewhat divergent view of the wine. Perhaps that is related to the length of the decant.

This is a pretty solid bottle of Bordeaux. Perhaps a little more modern styled than earlier vintages, though no where near as rich, ripe and hot as the Lillian Ladouys we had with it. I much preferred this one.

Given the reputation of this cru bourgeois as well as of the vintage, I was rather disappointed. This is a sound robust claret with savoury fruit, some earthiness and decent structure but in a somewhat austere vein, lacking in charm and a bit short. Maybe it needs more age but I doubt if it will ever be a real winner. Quite good but I don't think I'll buy more even at its current price of c.€15.
