2/10/2017 - mmcdds Likes this wine: 90 pointsDouble decanted for 3-4 hours and this was drinking beautifully with really good depth and concentration for its level. There's lots of dark fruit, Vosne spice, earth and somewhat fine tannins on the longish finish. All in all, quite nice and drinking really well. |

2/8/2017 - Old Vino Likes this wine: NRFor bordeaux or rhone drinkers who like to expand their palate. Pure, fresh and elegant. Complex red fruit, floral and mineral elements. Moderate tannins and acidity. Perhaps just entering early prime drinking stage. |

2/3/2017 - NostraBacchus Likes this wine: 94 pointsAs expected this is showing the darker Vosne-Romanée side with notes of darker spices, dark cherries, plums, violets, tobacco, also some funky notes (horsesaddle, barnyard), smoke, black tea and some menthol. It's medium-full bodied and dense with medium+ acidity and medium tannin Very good length and a nice combination of power and freshness. It's drinking really well already with a little bit of air. |

2/3/2017 - derek.hara@sbcglobal.net Likes this wine: 88 pointsVery intact. Transparent ruby with very slight bricking/watery rim variation. Dried cherry and bay leaf...surprising amount of fruit (that shows signs of the warm vintage) left. Nose would lead to more maturity. Palate was "velvety"...maybe too much so. Would have liked a little more energy and acid to balance out fruit. Others might give higher score as I tend to favor acid above all in balance/harmony. More masculine compared to Magnien and Mugnier...missing ethereal element that a good/great Chambolle delivers. |

2/2/2017 - SineQuaNon Likes this wine: 95 pointsHad it again and have nothing much new to add. I find this wine amazing and spectacular. This time it was served after a stunning 2007 DRC Richebourg, which may have caused me to rate it a point lower. I guess I found it slightly less singing and vibrant this time, but that is like splitting hairs. Highly recommended if you come across a bottle. |

12/19/2016 - Zweder wrote: 92 pointsWeekly tasting group RWP #240: Burgundy 2011 (@ VD): In the bouquet ripe red forest fruits, earth, forest floor, minerals and some medicine. On the palate ripe red berries, cherries, some minerals, dark berries, a touch of sweetness, soft acidity and mild tannin. Overall a beautiful, juicy and elegant wine which is slightly drying and has a good length. Approachable and young maturity now. |

1/21/2017 - pclin wrote: 93 pointsFantastic Chambolle nose, perfumed and intense, on the nose alone, 95 pts! On the palate, this is in semi-shutdown stage, fruits receded showing bright acidity, firm and spicy tannins on mid-palate, some oaks lingering at backend yet to be integrated. Wide spectrum of flavor with good length. Another 3 to 5 years, this maybe spectacular. At the moment, better on the nose than on the palate. Tiny production of only 433 bottles and only one left in the cellar. 92-95 pts. |

1/12/2017 - capacious Likes this wine: 90 pointsconsumed way way too young. Had as a 375 so hoped against hope- don't waste this wine by drinking for another 3-4 years at least. I blame this on my wife who insisted on a burg and didn't have it in her to go for a full bottle, so I wasted this little guy. Next time I will man up and drink what I have to so I can keep her happy |

1/12/2017 - liber Likes this wine: 91 points3rd of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level, previous notes in 2009 and 2012 VG+ and VGI - deepish red, little development; Morello cherry and plum, touch of vanilla and iron, attractive; fullish, long, touch of unresolved tannin well matched by weight of slightly baked fruit, maybe a tad overextracted and modern, but not offensively so, mature but plenty of life, improved on opening as taken from cold cellar to replace corked LLC 95. Certainly F (17.5). |

1/8/2017 - Burgundy Al wrote: 91 points1996 Burgundy Tasting (Holiday Inn - Skokie IL): Tasted double blind in 1996 Burgundy tasting. Lots of black fruit concentration that started out with some rugged notes, but softened nicely with more air. Much more "old school" than what we now expect from Perrot-Minot, this is a wine that is barely starting to become accessible, but is still nicely cellarworthy. |

I thank God that with our local retailer direct importing it at the time it was somewhat modestly priced. A couple years later the prices were tripled. This would be tough to drink more than a modest glass of at one time. |

12/17/2016 - bon vivant wrote: 91 pointsA bit cloudy and some initial bottle funk that cleaned up well to reveal bright red fruit and good grip with some nice underbrush notes and a decent finish but the 1996 tannic character was evident but not in a diminishing way. This got to a prime drinking point after about 45-60 minutes of decant time. That said there was a hint of VA present throughout which gave this a bit of a high note more pronounced at the beginning but later translated into slight off putting bitter notes as we got to the end of the bottle- so timing was everything and we rode the wave well. A bit disappointing for a GC bottle but enough here to make me suspect that a clean one could have been excellent. |
