Cork in great shape. Lively mousse and perlage that lasted for many minutes. Clear straw in the glass. Biscuit, yeast and honeycomb on the nose. Fresh, crisp fruit on the palate (the meunier?), with a wide center of acidity that carried the finish for almost a minute. Really lovely champagne.

Intense and still a bit wound up. Gave this about 25 min to air out a bit. This is very fresh and has aged at a snail's pace, first i was getting hints of red fruit (strawberry) aromatics but with time it was more of ripe apples in a wooden crate descriptor. There is a lot of concentration on the front end which spills into the mid palate but the back end base note has not yet developed. I say not yet as i think this has the stuffing to round out nicely but it is going to take some time. Excellent acidity with good Umami notes on the long finish, mixed with mineral and citric flavors. There is absolutely no rush here although this is a fine drink right now as an aperitif with fatty fare if you really have to crack one. (had this with home made buckwheat blinis, creme fraiche and caviar and it did not suck) I will wait patiently and keep my fingers crossed.

Jacquesson 728-741 tasting. 66% 2008 vintage, 34% Reserve. 53% Chard, 29% PN, 18% PM. Disg Nov 2012, 1.5 g/l dosage. In a flight with 737 and 738. This was still quite closed by comparison to the other wines and the 737 was the star right now. Lemon, less apple, loads of minerality and still tightly wound. Fantastic acidity and density, but just not very giving right now.

Quite a sharp, bright and firm champagne . Definitely best as an aperitif and was very interesting to compare it with the rounder and more polished 2002 millesime we had after ( Papies 92) . Would work also with a variety of demanding and rich foods. Nice but not great solid 90
Disgorged April 2013 with 1.5g/l , 2008 Base with 34% reserve wines all premier and grand crus. 53% Chardonnay, 29% Pinot Noir & 18% Pinot Meunier

Third of six purchased recently. The other two had oxidative notes that didn’t detract too much, but aren’t what I associate with Jacquesson. This bottle is fresher, with weight balancing out the house zippiness, plenty of red fruit, and a lengthy finish. What I was hoping for!

6th bottles of 7 purchased. Enjoyed with family and sushi this afternoon. Just brilliant, citrus and green apple, salinity and minerality, pastry dough. Bright, tight, incisive on the linear finish. Purity and light. Love this cuvee. Drink through 2023 or so.

Strangely muted on the nose, though it was fine on the palate. Thought it was corked initially, but I don't think that is the case. An off-bottle, probably.

24hrs of air in bottle already from Asparagus. Disgorged October 2012 (which I note seems to be earlier than most of the other bottles posted about here). Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, yellow gold colour. Thin legs. Fine perlage. Nose rather muted, medium- intensity, with aromas of yellow apple, green apple, brioche and some cream. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), medium body. Medum+ flavour intensity, with flavours of honeyed nuttiness, brioche, cream peach, yellow apples, green apples. Medium+ finish. Dosage 1.5g/l. 53% Chardonnay, 29% Pinot Noir, 18% Pinot Meunier. 2008 base, with reserve from 2006 and 2007.

Pale yellow tint with small gentle bubbles. Effusive nose of orange peel, toast, marmalade. Palate offers ripe lemon, bit of toasted almond, green apple, marmalade again with ample acidity to carry the exceptionally juicy flavors. Delicious/perfect with a sheep's milk Gouda (Rispens), at peak about 2 hours after opening. December 2012 disgorgement, most of this note taken from day 2.

This was interesting. Initially upon opening this was quite reticent. After around an hour this expanded into a full bodied Champagne with a ton of finesse and personality. Hard to put this down.

As always , the 736 was showing very well. Great acid, good fruit, good length - this was light yet substantial at the same time. Balanced. An intellectual wine, yet very enjoyable. Has the stuffing to go for years, especially in larger formats.

Golden yellow, aromas of reduction mustard-wine sauce, lots of sourdough and a little funk and nuttiness, pine nut paste, brown peach. In the mouth rich with slight creaminess, intense and concentrated with a long finish. Really cool intriguing champers after you adjust to it's mindset. Fine bubbles but fade after 20 minutes then drinks like a 15 y.o. white Burgundy. excellent. w/garlic chicken.

Bottle #5 of 7. This cuvée is 66% from the lovely 2008 vintage, and 34% from reserve wines. 53% Chard, 29% PN, 18% Meunier. 1.5g/L dosage, disgorged March 2013. Riley's 1st Birthday (Botanic, Raffles City): Disgorged Nov 2016 - this was a good, fun, and really yummy NV champagne to kick things off. It had a decent nose, rather neutral and unobtrusive as far as champagnes go, but quite attractive, with some white fruited accents and a touch of yeast, all pulled together with a little streak of steely aromas. The palate showed a decent bit of bottle age on it. Still bright and fresh, with a fine mousse and good acidity, but there was also an easy, approachable roundness to its flavours of red apples and honey pears, perhaps just edges with a little hint of oxidative fruit peels and some of the yeastiness picked up on the nose. Decent finish too, drifting away with a bit of citrus zest and a suggestion of minerality. Based primarily on 2008 grapes, this really spoke of the quality of the vintage. Yum.

Full straw color with lively bead; hints of ginger and lemongrass with dark baking spices; this has real vigor, big and bold with just faint hints of any maturity. Surprisingly still tightly wound. Would make a great match with Asian food. 92+

Bottle #4 of 7, this was off the charts delicious. Consumed with my family over a Thanksgiving euchre game in GA. Bright lemon, green apple, and chalky notes show lift and precision in this nervy, Extra Brut Champagne. The finish is forever, and everyone loved it. Drink now through 2024+

This has been a really good drink over the past year. It has a nice balance of creaminess and yeasty complexity to go with the fine mousse and the bakes orchard fruit. I bought this case at auction and it was grey market then shipped back across country and the corks are a bit wet so it may be more advanced than pristine bottles. Even though I enjoyed the wine, it's probably the last time I buy Champagne that isn't through official channels. You just don't know.

I liked this better than last time, the dryness is gone and the nice orchard fruit carries through better to an ever so slightly sweet finish (the label says "Extra Brut" so the dryness noted with previous bottles made sense). Just the slightest hints of maturity on nose and palate; but still has good energy to it. Has been in my cellar for well over four years. This was good value for $50ish.

Again in great shape, base 2008, fresh, vivid, some roasted aromas, almonds, precise in the finish, starting to reach his top. Very good for a NV. jacquesson'champagnes need at least 5 more years of cellaring. 92-93

Wife and I killed the bottle in 30 mins. Crazy good, tense acidity, finish forever, notes of brioche, vanillin spice, lemons and limes, and chalk. So very good, just a tad pricey at $54. This wine is based on the great 2008 vintage, 34% reserve wines, 53% Chardonnay, with a Brut Nature dosage of 1.5g/L.

Bright yellow, fine mousse and bubbles. Nose of citrus and toast, strong minerality. Yeasty and bitter citrus peel on the palate with some saline, this has lots of acidity and complexity with a medium finish. The long time on lees shows but do not detract from the wine, this is wonderful but needs time.

Nocciole tostate, agrumi, lieviti, frutta bianca, erbe aromatiche. Decisamente minerale. Naso complesso e intrigante.

This is one of the most unapproachable cuvees at time of release - stony, mineral and very precise. It did not have the weight and roundness that some of the other cuvees have had but I really liked it and I wonder if the score is too low.

Gary's Mini BBQ Ribs Event (Judith's House, WI): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over an hour plus. This seemed considerably different from the last bottle tasted. I believed they were from the same lot too. This bottle came off very chalky with a bitter mid and back end. Was paired with chilled shrimp cocktail and perhaps a different pairing would have helped somewhat. The nose shows citrus, ocean breeze minerals. The palate offers an over abundance of chalky minerality, yeast, citrus, sour grapefruit, grapefruit pith, lemon zest and a bitter finish.

Opened to celebrate the summer solstice. Good color, nose of pear, apple and fresh almonds. Flavors include the apple, almond, young pear, and a bit of yeast. Acidity is fine and the finish is medium and very clean; markedly different than many champagnes that have a "cellar" like tail. I liked this champagne and think it would have scored a couple of points higher if the finish was just a bit longer. Perhaps a slightly different dosage would have extended the finish, but who knows.
From the label on the back of the bottle: "Cuvee #736 comes from the 2008 harvest and from wines (34%). Grands and Premiers Crus in the Grande Vallee de la Marne and the Cote des Blanc. Traditional viticulture, enhancing soil quality, vine control and highlighting the individuality of each terroir. Vinification on the lees in casks, without filtration. 100% Cuvee. 58% Chardonnay, 18% Pinot Noir and 18% Pinot Meunier. Desgorgement: March 2013. Dosage 1.5gr/l."
(Severed with Italian ricotta dumplings or dunderi (Tasting Table 5/11/15) in a lemon butter sauce along with a fresh salad.)

Opened along side 2004 Gilbert Cordeuil and six friends @ Meme. Falls along my personal taste line. Many of the guests refer to it as a slightly more 'modern' champagne with the '04 Gilbert is more old fashion, so to speak (FWIW). The crowd was pretty much divided on which one is better. A bit more pear on the palate than I previously recall. Very good choice, ~91-92 and drinks somewhat above its price range (last bottle in my cellar)

Bel finale. Terza bottiglia di sei, finora tutte in crescendo.

This is an excellent NV champagne (but with base vintage 2008) with nice autolytic notes, a bit of hay, bisquits and ample fruit (citrus and a bit of tropical fruits as well). Very dry, high acidity, elegant and long.

May 2013 disgorge. Soft pear and apple on the nose with faint yeast. Good entry on the palate with spice and balanced acid. But I don't like the mid and backpalate. Slightly bitter and quite unelegant with unfocused acid and flavors for a young wine. I do appreciate the dry style and this does have some upside potential for my palate.

DG 03/2013, base 2008 vintage. Extremely delicious Champagne. Very linear at first, full of rich lemon peel and apple notes, followed up with bread crust and distinct minerality. The acidity is still rather searing, and the finish is long and puckering, in the best of ways. Very, very good, and will continue drinking well through 2022+.

Very nice one, along my taste line, and pretty consistent with my previous notes on this one from January. It is a good choice, ~91-92 and drinks somewhat above its price range. Vote of the bottle, though there were six around the table- the bottle was emptied in about 30 minutes, and the house enjoyed a taste as well.
Current CT mean (91.0) is probably a very good reflection, maybe 91+. At 50 it is a very good champagne selection, if you like a bit more 'dry' and citrus as I do, with the sweetness only on the 'accent' of the wine
(dry side champagne, opening floral over few minutes, long bubbles, enjoyable over course of dinner)

Our last bottle :-( Desperately awaiting the 738!!! Same note as last time: "Dry (1.5 g/l), elegant structure, which has enough Pinot Noir to give body, but not overwhelm the wonderful flavours of the slightly citrus and apple no doubt emanating from the Chardonnay. Smooth journey along the palate with a small surge at the end that dissipates slowly. One heck of a bubble for the price!!!"

Liked this a lot. Bright, racy green apple, pear and citrus fruit on the palate augmented by more savoury yeasty and doughy notes. There's fantastic acidity beneath that gives it great focus and precision, though it finishes just a touch short.

Still a little chalky for.my tastes but its definitely softened some already. Yellow fruits, hints of lemon meringue and a nice mousse make for a very good drink in this hot weather.
I liked the clean fruit flavors, with both lighter and darker nuances here, and had no trouble with the bone-dry personality. But this was ultimately rather simple for the price and base vintage. Perhaps I'm just too early here.

When I bought these several months ago, I should have read my own TN from last summer and bought more than I did. I say this because the bottle we opened last night, man was it good. Loaded with cut, showing lemon and zesty, lean flavors. Crisp. Bread dough in the finish and just a refreshing, spot on style that I really enjoy these days. Lights out good.

We had a big party with one of the sons of a bodega in Rioja so we pulled out our "house" champagne. We think Jacquesson, particularly the lower dosage 736 (1.5 g/l), is a most excellent bubble. He was impressed with the full details of the blend, dosage, etc found on the back label of the bottle. Perhaps something his bodega will try? He was more impressed with the structure of the 736, which has enough Pinot Noir to give body, but not overwhelm the wonderful flavours of the slightly citrus and apple no doubt emanating from the Chardonnay. Dry, smooth and elegant. One heck of a bubble for the price!!!

53% Chardonnay, 29% Pinot Noir and 18% di Pinot Meunier. Mainly from 2008 vintage. Very rich nose: the fruit is blended with a chalky minerality. Citrus fruits -mainly lemon- apple, tosted almonds and hazelnuts, brioches. At palate fresh and vibrant, sapid and mineral, with a bitter finish which suggest a low dosage. Nice long finish.

I like Jacquessons. Somewhat different from the typical MVs/NVs from the major houses. This had a lot more finesse. Nice nose - light-toast, pears, apples. Fresh and balanced on palate, good minerality, a bit of citrus, lime and just a very slight tinge of bitterness that added to the flavors. Enjoyable!

Drank after a heavy lunch and it worked very well. Mineral, stones and bread/yeast on nose. Very racy on palate, mineral, direct and vertical as it cuts like a knife but also has the volume and structure of the 2008 base. Wish I had more. Plenty of life ahead.

Goodbye to Izzy & Rachel (and Meyer!) (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): Clayton brought up a good point, "tonight this is my least favorite champagne, but in 10 years it'll be a lot better". On this night, this was lean and hard but I liked its edgy citrus notes a lot. Pretty one dimensional, what I did taste was very good. I agree with Clayton, though...hold for better results.

1978 Bordeaux @ Ledbury (The Ledbury): Magnum. O8 base apparently. Very ripe floral nose initially. Fresh attack. Lots of freshly cut, slightly green, tart apple.surprisingly rounded through the mid-palate before the acidity and seemingly low dosage really kicks in on a pretty tart and reasonably long finish. Currently *** but upside as and when it calms down.

Spring Champagne Tasting (Binny's Highland Park, highland park IL): Nose: There is a real salinity and precision to the nose with loads of minerals, sea salt, white fruits, crushed rocks, pears, and some bits of citrus. The nose is almost steely and laser-like while providing medium+ depth.
Taste: Medium/light bodied with medium/high acidity. The feel and structure are almost a study in contrast with sea salt, crushed rocks, saline, and white fruits. The palate is almost too light and somewhat lacking.
Overall: I feel like a slightly higher dosage would've filled out the wine more. This is a very good wine, but it just doesn't have that extra gear to really get it going and is a bit too dainty.
Will be yummy in a few years, but a tad tart right now. All of the backbone is there. Apple and citrus flavors need time to integrate. Excellent color and clarity

From mostly 2008 vintage. Fine, rapid bubbles. Nose shows fresh citrus, some green apple, very faint yeastiness. Minerality. The wine is lush on the palate, showing those citrus fruits while finishing razor sharp, due to the low dosage (1.5g/L) and high acidity. If you are a fan of extra Brut champagne, you will love this wine. I'd say it's just entering it's drinking window, and should improve and soften the razors edge over the next 3 years, drinking nicely through 2023. Very nice.

Based on 2008 vintage (46%) with a mix of reserve wines from earlier vintages (54%). A blend of Chardonnay (53%), Pinot Noir (29%) and Pinot Meunier (18%).
Pale lemon color. A delicate nose of restrained intensity; there are aromas of fresh, tart citrus fruits, some bread dough autolysis, a little yeasty French bread and a hint of chalky minerality. Overall the nose is quite dry and youthful, emphasizing very little fruit. The wine feels very dry, crisp and tightly-knit on the palate with pronounced chalky minerality, grapefruit-driven citrus fruit, some lime zest, a little spicy Pinosity and tons of acid. Its very low dosage (1,5 g/l) makes the wine really bright, linear and focused. The mousse feels quite smooth, fine and rather modest. The wine finishes with a really crisp and almost tart, medium-length aftertaste that emphasizes stony minerality and pithy grapefruit greatly, closing on a slightly bitter and very lightly saline note.
A remarkably focused and structured Champagne of wonderful finesse. Still way too young and primary, obviously in need of more cellar age. Very austere and forbiddingly tightly-knit at the moment, I could imagine the wine starts to unwind in 5 years and starts to really sing in 10 or so years. This is a wine that is not about power or fruit but instead balance and nuances, obviously meant for the long haul. Good value at 44,90€, recommended.

Bottled in July 2012. So easy to put it clear. Rich mix with a predominant megnier nose. Good length and a nice medium-bodied sensation in the mouth. To repeat this house. Dosage 2,5g/l.

Underperformed. Chunky with some ginger viscosity but the acid felt lacking until just before we'd polished off the bottle. Maybe we rushed. Feb 2013 disgorgement.

Non vintage but based mainly on 2008. Mostly Chardonnay based with Pinot noir second and Pinot meunière third. Disgorged November 2012. Served straight in glass at 6 c: Smell of green apples and green gooseberries. Tart and acidic taste but not too tart. At the same time slightly creamy feel. Delicate bubbles. Aftertaste slightly off. Serving at 10c after 1 hour in the bottle didn't alter smell or taste much.

This was a real kick in the pants. Very well made, better balanced and rounded than many Champagnes in this price range. Fleshy, dry, rich minerals. Nice bitters element at the back and finish. Potent!

Lovely biscuity nose with a light hint of citrus. Really fine mousse with lots of bubble. Quite rounded on the entry with red apple fruit and a rich, full yeasty character. Nice balance and a touch of salty minerality on the back of the palate.

very similar to previous bottle, though this one tasted perhaps even more dry. Not unpleasantly unsweetened, although our preference is for fuller, more generous champagne as a rule, both of us still like this cuvee very much. I would not necessarily age this, however, but I will enjoy it this holiday season.

Zesty and tart with mouthwatering acidity. Citrus fruits on the palate. As some other reviews have noted, this champagne has a pretty lean body but overall a pleasant drinking experience.

It's fantastic when a hyped wine manages to live up to your expectations. A wonderfully balanced cocktail of minerals, fat oak, bready autolysis and an array of fruit. Low dosage and crisp, but not intrusive, acidity. Drinks wonderfully at this fairly tender age.

Lots of yeasty stuff on the nose at first, with only hints of green apples coming through. Cleans up after some air and gives yellow fruit, some chalky minerals, grass and lime. Good mousse, high acid, som saltiness and more of the chalky minerals. Quite nice fruit mellows the impression some on the midpalate, but overall this is tight and lean. Medium lenght finish, with some bitterness and lots of lime and chalk. A bit premature now, but good upward potential.

Light yellow colour with fine tiny bubbles. The nose is sharp of oak and with a caramelized spicyness and Almonds on top. The palate shows an austere and acidic tone of citrus with a nice long finish of yellow apples.

Served blind. Light straw colour in the glass. The nose here is quite reticent, not giving up much. Seems overall quite simple, with some apple, mineral and spice notes. Palate seems quite thin, and the finish is moderate at best. I thought for sure this was Gardet. Disappointing showing for a producer of this caliber.

Tasted blind. Very simple, lean mute nose. Felt so non-descript. Touches of ginger, biscuit, apple cider, and dusty slate. Palate again is lean, tart, and minerally. Not really my style at all. Too lean and simple.

Some Jacquesson Champagnes...: The NV Jacquesson & Fils Champagne Cuvée No. 736 is made from the 2008 vintage and is light pale lemon in colour with very mild effervescence. On the rose, it displays rather yeasty, fresh bread notes alongside toasted walnuts notes. There's also a hint of baked pineapples almost.
An entry burst of walnuts and breadiness notes on the palate before progressing to a mid-palate baked fruits - pineapples and slight apricots. Towards the mid-end palate, there's a good freshness of nice lemon zest and a surfacing green lime. It's great how the wine starts off with some weight before it turns lighter as zesty fruits take over. An attractive acidity towards the end that is almost mouthwatering that lifts flavours of the wine without being overpowering. Superb underlying acidity gives it a long clean medium(+) finish.

nose: pretty intense, with apple, orange rind and a festive, holiday nuttiness. palate: high acid, but with a very plush and fruity feel to it, this was really quite lovely. The fruit was full and bouncy, like a happy 2008 should be. Long, long finish of nutmeg and lemon. Well done. .... at $65 this is a little on the high side for me, but it is so tasty the other drinker in the house doesn't even realize it is low dosage (shh...don't tell!). 91+
Pale with fine bubbles and nose of autolysis and lemon cream. Completely dry, light, and chalky with brisk acidity. Pure, uncompromising low/no dosage Champagne which will improve but never really appeal to those averse to a touch of lip smacking austerity in their wine. Great mouthcoating mineral cling at the end.

Cuvée 736 (vintage 2008, disgorged in October 2012) has opened up a bit since tastings in February and May. The nose displays impeccable autolysis, minerality, floral citrus-apple and a whiff of oak. The palate offers fine mousse, good body and firm structure to balance the high acidity, with a bone-dry and chalky yet fairly generous finish. We like the purist style here, like it a lot. Serious bang for the buck too. Stack away!

Popped in celebration of the birth of our nephew William; poured into small(er) white wine glasses which were the only thing available to us at our rented apartment in Stockholm. Currenlty, this comes across as youthful, playful...lots of verve. Beautiful mousse. Lithe body...and in a very sexy, nubile sort of way. Bosc pear and wet stones...some lemon zest. Tremendously enjoyable already. It gets the job done effortlessly and I wouldn't hesitate to drink these now...and as often as possible. What a champagne.

Golden apple, orange zest, hazelnuts, wet stones, cinnamon and ginger. Dry and quite fullbodied palate with quickly bursting large moussé and ripe yellow fruit - very propotioned though. Minerally textures and fine toast character. Peach, orange and golden apple as well as crystallized lemon. Long finish with slight bitter bite and fine searing acidity. Intense as hell, but at the same time a tad coarse on the palate. This needs some time, but it's quite obvious that this is a really spot on wine in the near future.

On opening the bottle we were met with an inviting aroma of yellow apples and cinnamon buns. Nice light yellow colour, medium to small bubbles. On the palate it was more like green apples, very dry and with a long, dry acidic, tannic finish. An excellent, classical dry, dry Champagne, perhaps just a bit too low on dosage for our taste.

It's here, the Jacquesson NV based on the supposedly next great vintage of Champagne! The combination of 34 % reserve wine richness and really convincing, tight structure of the vintage result in a delicious, somewhat serious fizz that I think should evolve nicely in the cellar, despite what they say about the general ageability of really dry Champagne. Tastingwise the dryness is a non-factor here, since the rich fruit makes this quite tasty and approachable, and the overall balance is very good. However at the moment the toasty and minerally nose still give the most pleasure, but the palate will surely get there.

Champagne Jacquesson with Jean-Hervé Chiquet (Stockholm): Appearance: bright yellow Nose: ripe pears, some wild strawberries, red and yellow apples, some perfume notes, honey, mineral, slightly toasted notes. Palate: dry, very mineral, citrus, grapefruit bitterness, green and some yellow apple. Tasted alongside the 735 just before the general release of the 736, the nose gives me a more Pinot Noir-like impression than the 735, but the 736 is actually a little more Chardonnay dominated, and I found the 736 a little more flowery. The palate is more mineral than the 735, with more stony and “fizzy tablet”-influenced minerality. It also shows more citrus and less apple notes. The 736 comes across as younger and needs more time, but definitely has potential to develop and will definitely peak higher. 88+ p.

Visiting Jacquesson (Dizy, Champagne): Not yet commercially released. Based on the excellent 2008 vintage. Compared to 735 this is more powerful and structured, nose still perhaps a bit muted but started to open with some time in the glass. Should become excellent, maybe one for the cellar too.

Again a winner from Jacquesson and the 2008 base is just showing brilliantly after more than 5 years after release...
The nose is showing slightly notes of oxydation, with a bit of spice, soft smoked ham... and still juicy citrusy character... a bit of vinousity
Palate is perfect, balanced and zingy, with the right amount of great acid without being tart... Great wine, still a lot to show I reckon ...

Yum.

The long time on lees shows but do not detract from the wine, this is wonderful but needs time.

Jacquesson 736 (deg mars 2013)

Taste: Medium/light bodied with medium/high acidity. The feel and structure are almost a study in contrast with sea salt, crushed rocks, saline, and white fruits. The palate is almost too light and somewhat lacking.
Overall: I feel like a slightly higher dosage would've filled out the wine more. This is a very good wine, but it just doesn't have that extra gear to really get it going and is a bit too dainty.

Very nice.

Tasted blind. Nose of white flowers, lime, apples and brioche. Very fine bubbles and wonderful balance between acidity, minerals and sweetness (1.5 gr dosage). Highly elegant wine but long in the finish. Very much a 'Growers Champagne' style. Maybe not everyone's taste but definitely mine!
This was my first 2008 Champagne and one can just imagine how amazing the single vineyards from Jacquesson will turn out. Thanks Marcello for opening this beauty. This wine goes directly onto my shopping list...Drink now - 2022

Served straight in glass at 6 c: Smell of green apples and green gooseberries. Tart and acidic taste but not too tart. At the same time slightly creamy feel. Delicate bubbles. Aftertaste slightly off. Serving at 10c after 1 hour in the bottle didn't alter smell or taste much.

very similar to previous bottle, though this one tasted perhaps even more dry. Not unpleasantly unsweetened, although our preference is for fuller, more generous champagne as a rule, both of us still like this cuvee very much.

Nose: ripe pears, some wild strawberries, red and yellow apples, some perfume notes, honey, mineral, slightly toasted notes.
