Still fairly light yellow. Light to medium body. Sweet, bright lemon, herbal complexity, and fairly mineral. Difficult not to think of Chablis when you drink this. Excellent and great value.

I finally found the proper venue to open this magnum! I love this vintage of Briords. Perfect with the crab boil, as one would expect. Nice mineral and saline, but a bit more fruit than most muscadet. Lemon peel and even some white orchard fruit.

Developed. Subtle ox. Delicate honey nuances. Brine. Citrus. Smooth and filling..,balanced, envelopeing acid. Lightly browning apple and lime in finish. Good length. No complaints. Solid. Interesting. Enjoyable. I prefer a little less development with a little more pop and mineral in this varietal.. though awesome for 7+ years! Paired well with Garlic Buttered Prawns.

Pale yellow. Light weight. Bursting with zesty lemon, herbs, and limestone. Very Chablis-like. The quality and ageworthiness for the price are just beyond belief. Drink or give it another 10 years.

Enjoying my lone bottle of this tonight with broiled char, sauteed dino kale with garlic and lemon, and whole wheat couscous…. This is killer. Classic with salinity, sea breezes, stones mixed with lime juice, with a top note of honey. Bright and fresh as always, but with an extra gear and richness. Long. Wow+.

Hospice Auction Wine Night (Samish Hill, Bellingham, WA): I love this vintage of Briords. Perfect with oysters, as one would expect. Nice mineral and salinity, but a bit more fruit than most muscadet. Lemon peel and even some white orchard fruit.

Bottle 16 of 18 purchased on release. Very decent acidity as expected, but time has balanced this out a bit. There is more creaminess and less edge. Phenomenal w/ oysters. Certainly better than a horribly corked bottle on 2/20/20.

We hosted another wine dinner for charity: Still fresh and delicious. Very fruity for a muscadet, but still crisp and mineraled. I've purchased and consumed more of this wine than all my other muscadet combined.

Savory and a little sour but also with a touch of sweetness, especially on day one; loses a little sweetness but gains depth and balance on day two. Puts me in mind of eating gooseberries with my grandfather as a kid.

Salt air, oyster shell and white fruits come out as the wine warms in the glass. Maturing nicely, crisp profile with good acid framing white fruits and great minerality. I have 3 left and will consume them over the next few years. 91 points.

The worm met almost no resistance going into the cork, but the cork itself was firmly seated, without any signs of seepage. The Briords character was fully there, but marred by vegetal notes and faint TCA that got worse with air.

My final bottle. I haven't tried this vintage since my last bottle back in 2018, but after seeing some of Jeff's comment about oxidation, I figured it might be time to rip the cork and not complicate my wine choice last night for our dinner. In this bottle, there is no oxidation. The wine is clean and fresh, although it does remind me of my 2018 note when I referred to the wine as plumper. There is still some residual briny saline and the same citrus notes from 2018, too. Where the riper tones, the fleshier aspect comes through, is in both a perception of melon and some green banana. In total, there is still plenty of brine and acid in the core of the wine to keep it again, but Jeff's call-outs about oxidation and cork issues might inform some of you about whether to drink or store 2014s moving forward.

My last of thirteen bottles. I opened one a month or so ago that was totally oxidized so I decided to stop holding these. I can’t decide if this has the tiniest bit of cork taint. It does have a slight nutty note. Still shows the saline and mineral I like, but not as much tart, citrus fruit that it used to show. This is still pretty enjoyable, but I liked it more a year or two ago. Given the corks aren’t the best quality, and that I seem to like these more within 4-5 years of the vintage, I am going to start drinking them, and the Clisson bottling, sooner going forward.
Knitting together nicely. Brackish salinity, green fruit, and a hard to define flavor reminiscent of canned asparagus but not that (and better than that). Useful.

My last bottle of this, and the best. This has aged only slightly, and all for the better. The Cellartracker drinking window looks about right. This wine is always an excellent value, but in 2014 it was outstanding.

Color on this was slightly darker than I'm used to from this wine, but no sign of oxidation on the nose or palate. Lovely wine as always, and a great vintage. CT shows I have one left but I think this may have been my last bottle unless there's one buried somewhere... If it's my last that is a shame.

Seems like a relatively pungent, briny, saline, steely vintage of this, with some nice fruit as well. Drinking great at room temperature. Drinking well right out of the bottle and over the course of two days. I like it a lot.

A slightly disjointed phase — good texture and salty minerals on entry, with a fruit driven mid-palate. Turns sweet/metallic/and cinnamon on the finish. Need that finish to integrate to get back to full stride. Good tonight, but not more than that.

Light and lovely. Strong lemon note. Long, interesting. Went beautifully with sautéed Maine crabmeat. 8/15/2015: Opens strong, with a bit too much acidity and minerality. This seems more declarative than the ’09 or ’13. Settles in after ca 30 min. Just lovely, similar to the ’09. Has a long life ahead IMO. 6/9/2016: C: Clear pale yellow N: Lemons and chalk P: Needs ca 30 min to open. Notes of lemon and sea shell. Clean and clear with a nice acid spine. Nice structure. Went beautifully with poached turbot. Very good length, very compelling. A great wine and incredible QPR! 3/23/2017: Beautiful lemony acidity. Clean, clear, light and long. Like a will-o-the-wisp, lovely to look at but always just beyond reach. Seems to have smoothed out considerably over the last 18 months. 6/13/17: Two years on, it's settled down. Opens on a chalky and lemony note. Started at fridge temperature, it picked up flavor and interest as it warmed and was exposed to the air. Went very well with a trout and almond dish. Hard to put down the glass, in fact. 3/3/18: Consistent with the last one. This is just so good!
Interestingly, I had a bit more than a half bottle left. So I filled a 375 with this, put it in the fridge under vacuvin, and the same with what (little) was left in the original bottle. The next day, what had been in the bottle was DOA, while the wine in the 375 was as good as when opened. So this seems to be very sensitive to oxygen--drink it up or keep the air away! 2/11/21: Yum! Just gorgeous. 2/15/22: Mmmmm...

This has gotten so much more expressive in just two years, and it has so much more time ahead of it. Gorgeous aromas of lemon curd, orange, talc, chalk, crushed shells, some salted almond notes and honeysuckle. Pure and zesty on the palate with a saline-infused, oceanic-worshipping jolt of goodness. Lemon curd, lime, green apples, it's zesty but creamy and laced with complex notes of crushed shells, shells, smashed rocks, almond skin, mountain stream, honeycomb. It opens up a lot over the course of 24 hours, and the last sip was the best. I actually decanted half the bottle on day 1, and left the rest for day 2, and I enjoyed it all thoroughly.

Just a pleasing wine to drink, as before. Its own characteristic richness continues to develop, shown by increasing nuance to the signature lemon/mineral/yellow fruit melon de bourgogne sur lie.

This is a really delicious Muscadet. It has not changed a lot since the bottle on which I wrote an enthusiastic TN about two years ago but I sense a greater refinement and better integration of flavours. I doubt if I will keep my remaining bottle long enough to discover whether it veers in the creamy Burgundian direction which I recall from some c.10 year old bottles from Luneau-Papin. Very good.

Opened this 2 days ago. This is a good vintage of Briords, and to me fleshier, richer. It has a plumper quality, with a good underpinning of grapefruit and lemon acidity, as usual. Would concur with Jeff's most recent note about saline...it does have that quality to it, a salty/marine component. Pretty cool. My bet about this vintage is earlier drinker, enjoy now rather than later.
Drank over a couple of hours, but just started to loosen up show it’s hand and the end of the bottle... will try again in 1-2 years, and probably breathe longer

Great as usual. A very nice NV BdB from Ambonnay. (The Pepierre was fantastic, but somehow the tasting note from the Coutier Bdb commandeered that of the Briords)
Everything- tang, salinity, minerality, chalky texture, a loooooong finish, and a dash of pear fruit. Just so good and integrated, I can't wait to see this in 10 years

This showed very similar to the bottle a year ago. It maintains the sea shell aroma, the medium weighted, creamy texture that is accented with the lemon and grapefruit that is vivid and bright. While this is not laser-like some other vintages of Briords, it is richer with a nice complementing energy. Really delicious.

A benchmark for Muscadet, and a really great wine in its own right. Chalk, salt, and white fruits. This is a description that could apply to a lot of wines and doesn't do justice to how those flavors play out in this bottle. I don't score wines, but given the other wines I see at the 90 point mark, this is a clear step above others in this range.

Electric, precise muscadet. Saline, chalk, grapefruit. Juicy acidity. More linear and tightly coiled than the 2015, which I love love love. This is very good juice and may be better with time.

Very nice. Per other comments, this Briords succeeds with a great rendition of melon de bourgogne, meaning, beyond the nice crisp lemon & lime, mineral, & chalk is the grape itself--as EGH said--clean and transparent, with definition and fullness. Good with a reasonable chill; definitely opened and rounded out with air time.

Bottle #6, and a wine I could drink all the time--just a real gem. Opened this for a wine dinner later, one where we are using our chef friend to cook and I am in charge of the wines. I pulled this wine to serve as the solo white for the opening course, and to show the others attending that a white wine doesn't need to be loaded up with glycerine, oak, vanilla and other distractions to be represent what is a white wine of great pleasure, and a screaming value for less than 20 bucks year after year. This vintage of Pepiere has fruit richness, yet also the sea air, minerally/slatey nature to work well together. Over dinner, this was humming and had the spine of Pepiere with the supporting fruit. Excellent.

F: meyer lemon, grapefruit, minerals, and more minerals. Nice long finish. Medium weight. Beautiful concentration and weight. Great balance. Even better than last time. Wow! Just incredible value.

A lazy sunday afternoon (Eric&Megan's): Nose: The nose is highly aromatic with crushed rocks, sea shells, lemon zest, white fruits, some baked dough, and pears.
Taste: Light bodied with high acidity. The acidity is sharp, but refreshing with crushed rocks, sea shells, baked dough, pears, and white fruits.
Overall: This is a pitch-perfect Muscadet for me. It's well balanced and immensely fresh with a crispness to it that scratches all the itches.

Another excellent showing for this wine. Lemon, lime and other zesty citrus fruits with limestone, chalk and sea water. Good energy and freshness. It's not all puckering acidity though as this has some lovely textural roundness to balance the laser-like focus of this juice.

Another awesome showing. Aromas of sea salt, shells, chalk, oysters, and the oceanic goodness is topped in notes of honey, tea, almond, green apples and lime. Tart and focused but some pretty creaminess to tone it down a bit. Mineral-crusted with lots of sea shells, talc, chalk and ocean breeze on top of green apples, limes and honey. Gorgeous stuff.

Finally got to drink one of these for myself. Absolutely no surprise that these are damn good once again. Sea water, lemon, and chalk. If I'm splitting hairs, the 14s are slightly fruitier and just below the 2012s in terms of my preferred vintages (I only go back to '09 on these), but they always represent some of the best qpr anywhere in the world.

PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs -translucent pale yellow/grey/green -intense olfactory-piercing lemon, honeydew melon, slight floral -higher upfront acidity but enough sap to buffer any shrillness, light as a feather and paradoxically almost painfully intense, citrus and stone less complex than the nose, good length -wow, a roller coaster of structure and intensity, a stellar vintage for a perennial winner

Camphor, lemongrass, and toluene on the nose. On the palate, lemon and grapefruit citrus with notes of pineapple and green apple, with strong acidity and a noticeable salinity on the medium finish. Excellent, and it seems to be improving with time. Outstanding value for the money.

Sea air, grapefruit and mineral are the dominant flavors/notes right out of the chute, brushed with tangerine. Finishes with green apple, tangerine and lemon zest. Simply one of the best wines anywhere for less than 20 bucks, joined by what comes under the cork every vintage with this stuff.

Charity Auction Tasting for Brigid Collins Family Support Center: I opened this at the Charity Tasting to show that you don't necessarily have to drop a lot of coin to get a world class wine. This had an $18.99 price tag on it. Crisp lemon and lime, but dominated by minerals and cut. Fruitier than many other Muscadet, the Briords had been a personal favorite of mine for years. i might now have to compete with those I shared it tonight when the '15's arrive. I saw a lot of people taking notes on this one.

At Naked Finn. This took a bit of time in the decanter to get going, but when it did, it was such a pleasant wine that went a treat with our seafood meal. The nose was all citrus and mineral at first, with the sur lie ripeness and character only coming out with time in layers of fleshier fruit aromas and chalky, flint smells coming out. The palate was still tight even with time, but there was a nice tensile strength and nervous tension to it, showing a nice beam of white and citrus fruit laced with a great mineral spine and a little soupçon of spice, all this in a tightly integrated package. A very good Muscadet; actually a very solid wine on any count. It will get even better over the next 5-10 years.

Zippy and refreshing with medium/light body, lots of lemon and lime, complex minerals, crisp but non-astringent acidity and saline spine making a great pairing for giant shrimps and baby crabs. Pépière connoisseurs say that this cuvée develops greater complexity with time but, as yet, I lack the experience to confirm. Good+.

Another 750, another terrific bottle. What I noticed this time was even with the chill of the wine allowed to disappear, this wine continues to shine at room temp. The acidity really carries the wine well, which is why at any temp this bottle is a star for me.

@work Clear, star-bright, extremely pale straw in the glass. Low intensity nose of underripe green apples, underripe lemon, slight baguette crust (lees). - light body - diminished alcohol (12%) - high acid (tart and malic) - no phenolic bitterness or tannins
Mineral and slightly saline on the finish. Pronounced mineral zippiness!

Drinking well now with just a little air. Lemon-lime (but not 7-Up or sweet in that way), lemon peel, green apple, mineral and plenty of zing and energy. I suppose in comparing this to the 2012, that vintage has a little less of the lemon-lime tones, perhaps then a little less ripe, but this is splitting hairs. This 2014 is very good, super easy to drink and pairs genius with food.

If Muscadet gets any better than this, it's not clear how. This has Clos des Briords typical zippy acidity and fierce minerality, but adds to it a very substantial mouthfeel (plenty of dry extract present here) and a great fruity core.

I don't have to act like I suddenly discovered something new here. If you haven't tried these wines yet, many others have extolled their virtues and now it's up to you.
This saline-inflected and light bodied white (12%) manages that high wire act of great depth of flavor and almost honeyed intensity at low alcohol, which I'm guessing comes from the sur lie treatment. The nose is seashell and white fruit, texture at once both surprisingly mouth coating while taut on the finish. Entirely food friendly and so need to automatically assume it can't navigate around the seafood tower.

Nose is freshly squeezed lemon, saline, and sea shells. The palate is concentrated lemon peel, with saline in the background. There's a lightness to the wine and a huge splash of acid. Stupid refreshing and just a fabulous QPR. Will be buying a case -- half for the summer, half to age.

A look into some 2011 Barolos (My place, Chicago IL): Nose: Whenever I smell a Clos des Briords, I just instantly feel like I'm standing on a bunch of rocks with the ocean crashing on them. This one is no different with saline, sea breeze, crushed rocks, oyster shells, and a good helping of white fruits.
Taste: Light bodied with high acidity. The acidity is extremely noticeable, yet refreshing with saline, crushed rocks, white fruits, and lemon peels.
Overall: This is easily one of the best value wines out there. It's complex and balanced with a coolness to it.

Sneak Peak of 2011 Barolo (Chez Keith): This is such a reliably terrific wine and highway robbery at the price point. Bright lifted aromatic of salinity, ocean breeze and seashells. 2011 Barolo peek (Chicago, IL): It's been a while since I've had the Briords, and it's a nice return to home, though perhaps it's not quite the right wine for such a cold winter day. Nevertheless. The nose has some lovely white fruit and florals which continue on the palate, while being counterbalanced by a nice saline minerality. Quite restrained, but despite that, there's really good concentration and depth here.

Smells of lemon, fennel, lees and sea air. Clean, with bracing acidity. On the palate, the wine light in body, yet intensely flavored (citrus, limestone, yeast, with a lick of salt on the finish). I've said this before about top 'sur lie', but this resembles a good Champagne -- minus the bubbles. Really, really good. Stock up on this one.

Seeing Bob H's comment and others whose palates I respect on this wine prompted be to open a bottle before it's too late to get more. I will be working late a few nights this week so I cracked a bottle at work to go with a salad and some pork butt I smoked over the weekend. Served at about 60 degrees. This is the real deal. It has a lot of the characteristics I love about Chablis. Sea air, saline and mineral with lots of acid to keep it lively. Smells like the liquor of a fresh shucked oyster. And 16 bucks?! A definite repurchase. Get 'em while you can - I took the last 8 bottles at one of the stores I use.
Light yellow in the glass; "crisp" nose with sea scents - I'm getting a pear note in the background as well.
Vibrant acidity on the palate, with good persistence. Nice salinity - taut & focused. This was a case purchase - a mistake, because it should have been a two case purchase!

Gang of 5 Lady's Night: The wine is light yellow color. Sweet nose. Bright acid, lime, lemon rind and mouthwatering. I tried the '12 vintage a few months ago and was taken aback by the level of complexity. This vintage shows all the same characteristics. An amazing QPR for an extremely high quality wine. I bought 5 bottles and then let Sean take two of them when he inquired, share and share alike.

Second bottle this month. Put a nice chill on this and then let it rip. Love this stuff, love, love, love it. The aromatic is like taking a deep breath, standing on a cool AM in Laguna Beach. The palate shows a depth of apple, nectarine, lime skin and lots of citrus. The interesting thing here is that the fruit is not taut nor lean, but instead forward, buffered by all the acidity/cut that energizes it. Finishes crisp, with green apple, lime and the same terrific energy. To pay $17 for this stuff is one of the real bargains in wine. This is as good as the 2012 was a few months ago, with this 2014 being a bit more exotic but smashing good.

The 2014 Pépière Clos des Briords is still a very youthful wine, and it is really only on day three that a bottle I followed really began to pop, offering up a lovely nose of green apple, oyster shell, sea salt, iodine and even some details of ripe green pear. On the palate the wine is textural and glossy from its time on the lees, but structured around a pulsating core of acidity. Really serious juice.

stone and lemon on the nose, bright lemon on the palate. crisp and clean. Preferred this on day 2 (overnight in fridge) where it seemed to add some weight to balance the electric acidity.

I've been drinking more of the Clisson/Trois/Quatre Pepiere extended-lees cuvees recently, and haven't had a Briords in awhile. Damn this is good, and in a much more classic/typical Muscadet style, less ripe, with less lush extract. I suppose there's some lime/green apple fruit, but it's really all about salt and rocks and acid, all turned up to 11. Like sucking on rocks dipped in the ocean. A perfect match with linguine and clams.

Another terrific Briords. Bright lemon, sea spray and tangy citrus fruit - pushing grapefruit but not all the way there - on a limestone base with great depth. This richer than I would have expected, particularly on the back side, but retains its trademark electric style throughout. This is open and more of a crowd pleaser than the '13, certainly in the same league as the '12. Very Good - Drinking great now

Yes. Right down the middle - not as bracing as a classic year, but also lacking the slight creaminess of a warmer year. Lasted a full week in the fridge with no degradation, just like a young Briords should.

One of the best versions of Briords ever tasted. Truly breathtaking extract of zesty lemon and lime, wet chalky gravel, oyster shells and brine. Can't think of a better oyster companion! Tight at first, wide open after 24h in the fridge. A wine to buy by the caseload.

Beautiful aromas of stone fruits with citrus and pronounced chalkiness. Palate is impeccably balanced. In other vintages I've felt the acidity could get almost a little searing. Not here. Good balance of fruit with great stoniness, minerality and chalk. Solid finish. A home run at $14 a bottle!

A little gem - especially for the price. A fair amount of rocky detail here with a big squeeze of lemon and some chalky minerality. This is fleshed out with some riper notes and textural elements which gives it a rounded mouthfeel. Drink now for freshness or hold for a couple of years.

Joli nez de citron. En bouche, belle acidité et une forte sensation minérale, de coquillages écrasées et un peu de piscine de marée. Un brin de fraîcheur!
Pour les vins blancs, probablement le meilleur RQP du monde.

Labor Day Blinds at Tim's (SF): Clear, star-bright, light star with hints of yellow and green. No sediment, some possible bubbles. moderate tears.
Nose: Clean, medium minus intensity, youthful. primarily earth driven. Green apple - tart. Underripe lemon, lemon pith, lime, Slight herbaceousness - Very vague green herb tones. Earth: Crushed rocks, Floral: not much. No botrytis Lees: There’s a slight richness to it - maybe because I’m looking for it. Presents as light baguette crust. Malo: no evidence of malo. Medium complexity.
P: Medium body, medium alcohol - 12% [correct - 12%] Acid: High No phenolics. Super green apple, lime. Balanced in a high acid way. Finish is medium Moderate acid.
Initial conclusions: If I didn’t know this was muscadet, what would I blind this as? nonaromatic grape, neutral style.
Riesling - Alsace, low quality - but there's no varietal character. Macon Chardonnay. But that would probably go through malo and the acid wouldn't be this high. Italian Pinot Grigio - might have phenolic bitterness, acid probably wouldn't be this raging high, also this is just very high quality for PG. PG at this quality level would have some aromatics - it's approaching pinot gris from Alsace level of extraction and weight. Muscadet - I might go Muscadet based on the fact that it's a quality non-aromatic white with some weight and texture to it (maybe from the lees), but that doesn't have acid softened by malo (indeed, raging high acid) and no phenolic bitterness.

Blind Tasting (San Francisco, CA): Tasted blind. Lemon yellow; rich nose with spice, maybe some very ripe tropical fruit, lemon, a little grassiness, herbaceous; palate is light to medium bodied, high acid, grassy, lemon-lime, but still more about ripe fruits, medium alcohol. Considered pinot Grigio, but too much flavor. More likely sauvignon blanc from a ripe climate, though the palate has high enough acidity that it could still be old world. Relatively young, within last 5 years. 88

I can’t believe it’s taken me until Labor Day weekend to pop the new vintage of Briords, but glad I did. A beautiful wine, per usual, classic nose of seashell, chalk, talc, lemon-limes, oyster, white flowers, hints of white peppery spice underneath. Salty and crunchy with the lime and lemon fruit. Gorgeous acid but balanced by some creaminess. Notes of chalk, clamshells, talc and limestone make this a complex, mineral-laden wine that begs for all sorts of shellfish. Glad I have some more to cellar. Will check back in two or three years because I love how these age.

The platonic ideal of a summer beach wine to enjoy with fresh shellfish. Dense, tight nose showing whiffs of white flowers, lime, chalk, and sea spray. Packed with chalky extract and mouthwatering citrus fruits and gritty, saline goodness. Need to sock away the remaining bottles for a couple years.

Simply outstanding. So much restraint and a wine that you have to come to, not the other way around. There are subtle whiffs of shale, talc, mint, sage and lime blossom. The palate has a river rock coolness to it. It is neutral but juicy (if that makes any sense). There's an underlying base of chalk and the finish is bone dry and thirst quenching.

Unsurprisingly, this bottle of the Briords was deeper and far stonier than the number of bottles of regular 2014 Pépière Muscadet that I've drunk. More multi-layered and textural but I think only hinting at what it might be. The regular wins out at the moment for sheer enjoyment. Both seem excellent in 2014.

Lemon and white flowers on the nose. On the palate, lemon rind, chalk, and honeysuckle, with intense acidity on the medium finish. I think this will improve with age and air. Excellent value at about $15.

Umiddelbart gjenkjøp for min del. 90p.

Light and lovely. Strong lemon note. Long, interesting. Went beautifully with sautéed Maine crabmeat.
8/15/2015:
Opens strong, with a bit too much acidity and minerality. This seems more declarative than the ’09 or ’13. Settles in after ca 30 min. Just lovely, similar to the ’09. Has a long life ahead IMO.
6/9/2016:
C: Clear pale yellow
N: Lemons and chalk
P: Needs ca 30 min to open. Notes of lemon and sea shell. Clean and clear with a nice acid spine. Nice structure. Went beautifully with poached turbot. Very good length, very compelling. A great wine and incredible QPR!
3/23/2017:
Beautiful lemony acidity. Clean, clear, light and long. Like a will-o-the-wisp, lovely to look at but always just beyond reach. Seems to have smoothed out considerably over the last 18 months.
6/13/17:
Two years on, it's settled down. Opens on a chalky and lemony note. Started at fridge temperature, it picked up flavor and interest as it warmed and was exposed to the air. Went very well with a trout and almond dish. Hard to put down the glass, in fact.
3/3/18:
Consistent with the last one.

Very good.

Excellent.

Tart and focused but some pretty creaminess to tone it down a bit. Mineral-crusted with lots of sea shells, talc, chalk and ocean breeze on top of green apples, limes and honey. Gorgeous stuff.

The interesting thing here is that the fruit is not taut nor lean, but instead forward, buffered by all the acidity/cut that energizes it. Finishes crisp, with green apple, lime and the same terrific energy. To pay $17 for this stuff is one of the real bargains in wine. The 2014 Pépière Clos des Briords is still a very youthful wine, and it is really only on day three that a bottle I followed really began to pop, offering up a lovely nose of green apple, oyster shell, sea salt, iodine and even some details of ripe green pear. Bracing acidity frames ripe white fruit (pear/apple); boy, this is nice right now, with good persistence on the finish.

Really great vintage for this. Real drive and precision on the palate. Long and tangy. Will try to get a case and lay it down.

Labor Day Blinds at Tim's (SF): Clear, star-bright, light star with hints of yellow and green.
No sediment, some possible bubbles. moderate tears.
Nose: Clean, medium minus intensity, youthful. primarily earth driven.
Green apple - tart. Underripe lemon, lemon pith, lime,
Slight herbaceousness - Very vague green herb tones.
Earth: Crushed rocks,
Floral: not much.
No botrytis
Lees: There’s a slight richness to it - maybe because I’m looking for it. Presents as light baguette crust.
Malo: no evidence of malo.
Medium complexity.
P: Medium body, medium alcohol - 12% [correct - 12%]
Acid: High
No phenolics.
Super green apple, lime.
Balanced in a high acid way.
Finish is medium
Moderate acid.

PNP. Light color. super dense acid and chalky minerality match the dense fruit. this was amazing with our simple mussels
Day 3 (stored open in fridge) this is really showy with great fruit and less sharpness. really nice!
