Langton's Bordeaux En Primeur 2022 tasting (Langham Hotel, Kent Street, Sydney): concentrated ripe plums, sweet oak spice, with time a little perfumed uplift lends prettiness to the nose without detracting from a sense of richness and density. Softly engaging plummy fruit is married to the silkiest of tannins, all persist long. Very good.

Bottled sample with Christian Moueix. Floral and smoke on the nose. Fresh entry followed by dense, delineated layers of black cherry and dark fruit. The velvety texture is striking. A success.

The complex aromatic profile offers smoke, licorice, violets, cocoa, and a myriad of red and black plums. As good as the nose is, it's the sensuously-textured palate, with its waves of velvet-topped fruits that steal the show. The perfectly ripe, deep fruits provide length, lift, and complexity, with a lingering finish that keep you coming back for more. The wine blends 96.5% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and .05 Petit Verdot. The harvest took place September 1 - September 19. Drink from 2026-2050. 96-98 Pts.

99 vvPunkte / Ich gebe zu, ich habe ein Flair für diesen Wein, die Nase ist burgundisch, würzig, floral, Noten von Schwarztee, Rosen, sehr verspielt, komplex, klar, rein, eine Verführung. Im Gaumen ungemein weich und zugänglich, man möchte gleich schlucken, denn hier ist alles an seinem Platz, die Gerbstoffe sind über alle Zweifel erhaben, die Säure hält frisch, der Wein hat enorm viel Eleganz und wirkt trotz der ganzen Kraft und seinem "südlichen Charakter" tänzerisch leicht. Fast endloser Abgang. Ein absolutes Highlight und an Eleganz und Aromatik kaum zu überbieten. 2028 bis 2060 (Verkostet "En Primeur" im April 2023 in den Büros von J.P.
