La Tache and '96 Champagne (Atlanta): Pop and rest. WOTN. Incredible nose, bursting from the glass. Palate was clean and balanced with fruit and acid in tow. So many layers and so, extremely sexy. Sexy beyond sexy. You just can't get that layer from Cali Cab.

Tasted blind, this wine had been given 5+ hours of decanter time. It had a deep red center with light red/orange rims. The medium intensity nose of cola, violets, black cherry, and minerals was quite attractive.
In the mouth, it was clear this was not a hot vintage wine. It was ripe but not particularly rich. It had very nice balance, rounded tannin, and just a tiny touch of an edge that said 1988. It had excellent acidity and length.
THis is in the zone but will easily last 10 years. It reminds me a bit of the '66 which still tastes great if you can find a well stored bottle. Could it pick up a point?

(Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche) Light-medium bricked red color with clear meniscus; very mature, mushroom, earthy, cigar box nose; tasty, mature, tobacco, cigar box palate with very firm tannins and medium acidity; medium-plus finish

La Tache in Atlanta: Simply fantastic and WOTN for me. A vintage of La Tache that I love.

La Tache and Chevalier Montrachet with Brad (Roger Nellans home): My last bottle. Tertiary notes. Beautiful nose of Asian spice, tobacco. Red fruited and tannins resolved. Excellent acidity. Quite different than the 90 LT served alongside.
