The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), plums, red currant and black pepper. It tastes like black currant (cassis), red currant and black pepper. The body is full and powerfull. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

TN: A Jasnières, a Margaux and a Vouvray on the balcony with friends. (My place.): We were all pleasantly surprised at how well this showed. At peak, silky and delivering just what you want out of a Bordeaux. Nice black fruit, earth and hint of cedar. Just a slight touch of the vintage's hard edges on the finish, but really showing a lovely softness. Solid B+.

I had no idea what to expect of this bottle -- don't remember where or when I bought it (pre-organized thinking about wine mode). I let this one breathe for a little bit (30 mins or so). Surprisingly alive given the chateau and the vintage. Fruit in the background and tannins in the foreground, but not unpleasantly so. Fairly traditional Bordeaux tastes. I would be happy to drink another if I had one or someone popped one open for me. Although it may be past its prime, my guess is that it wills till be perfectly drinkable in a few years, although I would not push it too far.
