  • For a very difficult vintage this does show quite well. Tasty upfront red fruit flavors and Asian spices dominate, but also must acknowledge some light notes of green herbal elements. While textually this is overall smooth, rich, and vibrant there is also a slightly rough edge. No hurry to drink up, but worry as fruit fades so possibly does the enjoyment.

  • Wines of the Gods (House of AC and JC): Component of DRC Echezeaux and Grands Echezeaux vertical. Light ruby with subtle herbal green nose, suggestive of "green meanies", but no where near the affectations seen in the 2004 Vogue wines. Palate medium body Pilgrim cranberries with a medium finish. After opening, 2 hours later, the green "taint" lessened and makes me wonder what this may mature into? Best 2025-2035.

  • Initially feeble and weak, then it suddenly woke up like a kaleidoscope with layers of flavors. Wine was feminine yet silky. We drank this together with 2003 which was a big contrast since 2003 was a hot year and powerful.

  • my first time tried an echezeaux from this domaine, i was really suprised, though the 04 is only an avergae vintage, but no way, great wine, everything is on the right place, near to perfection, a wine i will always remember

(Romanée-Conti Echézeaux) Yield 26.5 hl/ha - or 1,267 cases. Medium cherry-red colour. Soft aromas of vanilla support high-toned young but quite elegant notes and subtle stems - slowly it is cherry fruit that starts to underpin everything. The palate mirrors the elegant profile of the nose - there are no fireworks, just a sneaky, undemonstrative length. Elegant, subtle, long reflective wine.
