Dinner at RPM (RPM Italian - Chicago, IL): Thought this showed a bit too much veggie notes. The florals were beautiful, and it there were some really nice earthy notes too. The fruit, I thought, came across a bit green and that gave it a bit of a raw edge. Very nice wine all around, just a hair too green for me to reach that 90-point plateau.
Dinner at RPM (Chicago, IL): This had a very, very big nose with tons of fresh red fruit still showing through. The nose was alluring but just enough to titillate. The palate however, was somewhat brutish -- big and bold red fruit that didn't seem to match the nose, making this feel a bit disjoint.
Wine Tasted at Acker Auction (Marea - New York NY): Very mushroomy with lots of forest floor. Started borderline dirty, but that blew off after a few minutes. Showed very mature red and black cherry aromas and flavors start-to-finish. Nice and elegant, just not as exciting as the most recent bottle I tried a few years back.

(Clos du Tart Clos du Tart) The colour is a little younger than the Lambrays. Sweet, old wood aromas and a slight vegetal edge over deep fruit notes. The old wood is quite evident as a flavour too. There's plenty of concentration and nicer flavours and width in the finish. Better condition than the Lambrays bottle and, hence, a better experience.
