La Paulée de Los Angeles - The Verticals (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Walkaround vertical tasting. Alluring red fruit aromas with perfume. Palate didn't quite follow through, lots here, but not quite harmonious, which is unusual for the vintage. I was slightly perplexed and was hoping to revisit, but time did not permit. Lots here, patience required is my general assessment.

Wines Tasted at the La Paulée Verticals Session (The Maybourne, Beverly Hills): Pale color. Light weight. Bright, lively, supple red/black fruit, great acidity, fine soil throughout, less noticeable char than the earlier vintages. Fine, earthy tannins. The epitome of fragrant, elegant Grand Cru wine. Completely seductive and again, outstanding.

Beautiful fruit and structure. Balanced, primary but accessible if that’s what you like. Delicious.

Tasting: Quite promising, but needed at least 2 hours in the glass.
