  An easy drink now. A rather complex nose of oak, pencil lead, floral notes, black cherry, and strawberry. On the palate, medium bodied, at most, with soft tannins with a little residual bite. This is enjoyable to drink now and opens with air. It’s feminine and on the elegant side. The 2005 and 2008 are bolder wines. There is something of Burgundy here in the elegance. Presumably it will improve but for those who like young Bordeaux, this is a good candidate to drink now. It evolves in the glass keeping you intrigued. The scores seem justified. One reason my score isn’t higher is that this wine doesn’t feel quite obviously Bordeaux vs California. It has the elegance and isn’t overly alcoholic or oaky, but I could imagine a young Joseph Phelps Insignia tasting similarly. I’d like a bit more Margaux florals for example and more minerality.

  2차는 약한 가죽, 담배. 체다는 잘 어울림
  혀가 약간 갈리지게 타닌감
  구조감이 좋음 바디감 m+ 부드러워서 왜 보드도의 여왕인지 알것같다

  From magnum. A non-wine collector friend was gifted this bottle and decided to open it on a special occasion because he has no desire to wait 20 years. I don't drink a lot of young Bordeaux (and definitely not first growths) on release, so I didn't know whether it would be approachable. Though it will no doubt gain loads of complexity in 20 years, I was surprised at how supple and friendly this wine was on PnP. Great balance of dark fruit, earth tobacco and other flavors. The tannins are extremely well polished, making me surprised to read Leve's note that this wine had a record amount of tannin in 2017. No hard edges, no harshness anywhere. This wine was simply delicious. Glad to have experienced it.

  Really dense and concentrated aromas with packed raspberry fruit, plum peel, black currant, crushed stone, really wet summer rain that has fallen on the asphalt and great violets. Fantastic first touch that only creates ultimate well-being from the first second. This is so energetic, refined and delicate that tears well up in my eyes. Beautiful purple fruit peel, black currants of optimal variety, anise, herbs, crushed stone, hints of vanilla bean, Ethiopian coffee, and deep wet salt layers that create insane desire. Long, refined and wonderful finish. Sublime wine for eternity! 98 points.

  Dark ruby in color, the wine is silky and seductive. This is not a powerful wine, instead a velvet and satin texture with complexity and length. On the palate, the wine beguiles you with its sweetness, lift and sumptuous qualities. This vintage contains a record amount of tannins for the estate yet these tannins are so ripe and soft, you’ll barely notice them. This gem will have the ability to age for several decades. Made from a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, the wine reached 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.7. The Grand Vin was produced using only 37% of the return. The harvest commenced on September 18 and finished October 3 and the average yields were 35 hectoliters per hectare. Bravo for Philippe Bascules, the managing director who supervised this sublime production from start to finish.
