(Montrose) was a bit off-putting in a corky way, definitely musty with a lot of band-aids, minerals and not much else. It was tough to find any fruit in the nose, and while the palate was better, it was still on the slaty side with those band-aids. There was nice balance, but the wine was austere nonetheless. Someone called it 'dirty because it always was.' That must be that 'once a, always a' concept
