A different showing here. Slow-O’d from night before with an added shake for air in the bottle. Served too cool a temp. Here the wine was taut, red currants, stoney red fruits and generally cooler fruits with good acids. I opened this for a Napa drinker and the wine was not Napa esque… needed food. air and temp clearly played a role here versus prior showings. Based on today, I would say give this 10 years to start showing more complexity as that youthful fruit was more easily masked by cool (albeit too cool) temps this go around.

Chateau Montrose Tasting (Bentley Bar & Restaurant, Sydney): Medium plus intensity aromas of blackcurrant, a little forest floor, polished oak is controlled, cedar, slight cigar box, plums in support, cream. Juicy, medium plus intensity acidity, polished fruit and oak is balanced, tannins integrated, super persistent. Very good.

You have already read all the comments on flavors and tannins beautifully integrated into this wine. Let me use a car analogy. This wine is pure power with weightless precision. Buy as much as you can and let it sit in the garage (cellar) until 2027

Blueberries, blackberries, white pepper, lilies, rose petals, granite and wet sand. Exceptionally long and builds with layer upon layer of formed, elegant fruit. Full with body, and feathery, sweet tannins. There’s some tobacco on the backend, with a solid frame. This will age for many, many years. Up there with ‘05 and ‘16. A kaleidoscope of flavor, yet loaded with finesse. Decanted for four hours. Drink 2027 -.

2019 Bordeaux Tasting, MW tasting (Vintner's Hall, London): 64% CS 30% Mer 6% CF, 14.50% Dark fruit notes in the nose, currants, fine oak frame Palate is juicy but quickly turns into beast mode, big tannins not really aggressive, feels rather linear at this point, med to full body, long finish. No rush for this one
