  Early Mar 2024, Rheingau Gourmet Festival, rarity diner “25 vintages of Chateau Montrose”: bottle immediately opened before consumption; dark crimson color; sour, acidic nose; much more approachable in the mouth with cherry juice like flavors; however, accompanied by notable acidic imperfections.
  
  Not fully enjoyable, but clearly drinkable and even a bit better showing than at my last encounter with this Montrose vintage in Feb 2011 (see CT note).
  
  Vintages of flight III:
  1952 - 1953 - 1966 - 1976 - 1979 - 1981

  Still very vibrant and fragrant
  Young herbal and cherry notes. Aging very well
  Tobacco, green tea, wet leave and mushroom

  Dead with slight vinegar nose. Very likely linked to poor cork used by Montrose. I doubt that my 2 remaining bottles will be better.
