Absolutely amazing for a 78 years old wine. Wine was in very good condition and good ullage level. Cork was intact using Durand. Did not decant. Aromatic nose which I will use flora to describe it, with toast, spices, hawthorn along side. Medium acidity and medium- tannin. Very impressed with the wine considering it was during make during World War 2.

Drank alongside Lafite from 86, 90 and 99 at Halls Chophouse in Charleston, SC. Similar notes to the previous post, simply stunning how much life this bottle had left in it. Mostly tertiary smells and tastes but still some fruit left and definitely still sported tanin and acidity. Faded after about an hour in the glass but a memorable experience.

An incredible opportunity to drink the most important first growth and a WWII wine to boot. Notes for leather, cigar smoke, light forest and dried dark red fruit. Still had tannins. This bottle still had some life in it and could go another 5 years or more. Popped and poured immediately. Cork was basically black from mold like symptoms. But the wine was solid and you could taste the history! Medium velvet finish!

Beautiful colour, pure refined nose. An almost feminine Wine. The question of relativity come into play when judging Wine of this age. Do you judge the Wine in absolute terms or take the age into account? Truly an amazing effort given its 75 years of age. I Think this has been a greater Wine at several younger ages, but it is still very enjoyable and a true academic joy. 92 points disregarding the age and I leave it up to you how much you want to add for age. (Ww2 tasting in CPH)

Acker BYO 2018 (Tribeca Grille): Lots of sediment in this. This one is showing it's age, but still quite interesting. It's more in the secondary and tertiary space. Fruit faded. Lots of shoe leather. But interesting to drink. Always makes me think of the history of that year.
