Drank from a 375ml split. A purplish red between pomegranate and the color of freshly polished ruby jewels in a swiss watch. It took 4 hours of decanting for this to finally reveal itself. Incredible graphite smells, leading to cherry cola, beautiful florals, red and purple flowers. There's a silkiness and smoothness that almost tastes lightly sweet, a playful cotton candy, rose water. A long finish that turns towards two simultaneous flavors of juicy orange and zest and deep mint chocolate. Faint, but clearly there. Some spice, pepper, reminds me of a very light garam masala. Incense, jasmine

It is the elegance of the wine, silkiness in the tannins, and the purity in the fruits that form the character in this wine. On the palate, you find layers of sweet, refined, cherries, red plums, and black raspberries tasting like they were picked at the perfect moment and eaten in the vineyard. Texturally, the wine is incredible. The fruits are velvety, creamy, fresh, long, and rich. Everything is in balance and harmony. The finish is seamless giving you a wine that is effortless to taste. The wine blends 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cabernet Franc, 13.5% ABV, 3.68 Ph. Drink from 2030-2060.

For the sake of honesty, I put my exact notes, written before the commercial releases but I do not put any comments on the wines whose price has exploded monstrously for no valid reason. Personally, I continue to buy much cheaper 2019s or much better 2016s.

The purity of the fruit in the nose is striking. From there you move to notes of allspice, tobacco, roses, truffle, smoke, roasted plums, cherries and currants. Incredibly sensuous, silky and fresh, the fruit literally coats your palate with layers of velvet and silk textured berries. Intensely concentrated, weightless and effortless to drink, the wine seamlessly glides across your senses and holds with you for at least 60 seconds. This is a prodigious vintage of Chateau Margaux. The product of an early vintage, picking took place September 10 to September, 30. Yields were 36 hectoliters per hectare, with the Grand Vin produced from only 36% of the crop. The wine blends 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, 13.5% ABV, 3.68 Ph. 98-100
