Can't believe this wine is a '57. Still not as youthful as the '42 tried recently, but fun and hanging on strong. Blinded several Aussie and Cali winemakers who thought it was a 15 year old Burgundy!

Light brownish in the glass with lots of sediment. Closed on the nose. There seems to be a bubbling intensity underneath the somewhat rejective nature of the bouquet. With air and patience, notes of forest floor could be identified. In the mouth the wine was wonderfully sweet and tasty with good width and depth, solid structure and definition and complexity. Sugary sweet on a fruity note with perfect integration and maturity, echoing out on a sulfury and pleasant note.

La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Unmistakable as anything except a great old Vosne, this has plenty of acidity that has helped this this surprisingly bright. Very exciting with good density.

Richter Raritäten Degu Volume III (Restaurant Farnsburg, Switzerland): Much better than the vintage pedigree, lots of minerals, ripe cherries, classic pinot nose, rather 'cold' in taste with lots of acidity. Good but not great
