Barrel sample. Bigger, more concentrated and complex nose versus La Forge. Perfumed nose. Darker cherries, sweet ripe raspberry and blackberry hints of earthiness and nice bit of sweet cedar and oak to round off. Palate similar with a small touch of black pepper and liquorice on the finish. Long, complex finish showing off the complexity. Subtle but balanced acidity adding real freshness. Tremendous potential I can't wait to try again with more maturity.
Anticipated score when mature: 95-97.

Quatuor en Harmonie (Morey-St-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Nuits-St-Georges) - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Nuits St.-Georges): Walkaround tasting with the producers. Reductive so tough to assess, but this is on the leaner side with less depth than typical. Very good length.

La Paulée de Los Angeles Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - Santa Monica CA): Walkaround tasting. Lean styled, nicely approachable and flavorful, more red than black cherry, but with lots of fruit and spice nuance. Finessed with very good length, good enough weight and density.

Assessing 2021 Burgundy-La Paulée de Los Angeles Grand Tasting (Fairmont Miramar, Santa Monica): Pale. Fragrant green herbs. Elegant, light, subtle, and not a bit tart. Light red fruit, a little spice, gentle soil, and very refined tannins. Excellent and very fine in an ethereal light style. The question over time will be "Too light?" to be definitively outstanding wine.
