I'd put this in the very good, but disappointing category; I mean Y'quem is alway good; however this bottle lacked energy for me; the nose is lovely with candied mandarins, butterscotch, pineapple, mango, vanilla pod, and honeysuckle; the palate is a bit sweet and ponderous; lacks the freshening acidity that I really want to keep it singing. Its rich and deep, and lovely don't get me wrong, I'm nitpicking here; it is delicious, but I've had better Y'quem. Will see how this ages.

Very sweet and syrupy (compared to other Yquem vintages), not a ton of acidity but not at all flabby. Great right now and of course for 100+ years.

OenoMacrowine conference gala dinner at Château Luchey-Halde (Château Luchey-Halde, Mérignac, Bordeaux, France): Medium gold. Apricot, Fresh lemon peel. Lemon and orange marmalade. Tonic water. Cumquat marmalade. Stewed quince. Cedar(?). Sweet but perfectly balanced by the fresh medium(+) acidity. Really elegant and lithe. Complex. Surprisingly medium(-) bodied. Very obviously an exceptional wine.
